63XL Compatible Ink Cartridges, Black and Tri-Color

Best use cases

If you print often enough to want a replacement set ready, this black-and-tri-color 63XL pack is aimed at keeping both ink types on hand. It’s a different fit from buying a single cartridge when only one color has run out.

The package includes one black cartridge, one tri-color cartridge, and a user guide. The listed yields are 750 pages for black and 450 for tri-color, so the set may suit routine home or office printing better than a lower-capacity option—provided your printer is on the compatibility list.

Picture printing a batch of work documents, then a few color pages for a school project: having both cartridges in the pack covers those everyday needs without piecing together a set. Actual results can vary with what you print, so treat the page yields as listed estimates rather than a promise for every job.

Product specs

This is a compatible replacement cartridge combo for printers that use HP 63 or 63XL ink. The listed contents are one 63XL black cartridge and one 63XL tri-color cartridge. The product description also says the cartridges use upgraded chips for recognition and ink-level display, those are seller-stated features, not a reason to skip the model check.

Compatibility is listed across HP OfficeJet, Envy, and DeskJet series. Named examples include OfficeJet 3830, 4650, and 5255, Envy 4520 and 4512, and DeskJet 3630 and 1112. The full compatibility list also names models such as OfficeJet 5200-series printers, Envy 4510-series printers, and DeskJet 1110-, 2130-, and 3630-series printers. These family names cover many model numbers, but they don’t establish compatibility with every printer in a series. Match the exact number on your printer to the listing, for unlisted models, compatibility remains uncertain without that measurement.

Where it shines

The practical appeal is the paired format: you get black for text-heavy printing and tri-color for pages that need color, in one purchase. If both cartridges are nearing empty, that can be more convenient than ordering them separately. The stated black yield is also higher than the color yield, which is worth keeping in mind if your printing is mostly text.

There’s a tradeoff, though. If only one cartridge needs replacing, a combo pack means buying the other at the same time, whether or not it’s low. And if your printer model isn’t explicitly listed, a cartridge’s 63XL label alone isn’t enough to confirm it will work.

When it makes sense

You’ll appreciate it if your exact printer appears in the compatibility list and you regularly use both black and color ink. It’s a sensible format for someone who wants a matched pair of replacements rather than a single cartridge, especially when printing includes both documents and occasional color pages.

Better avoided if you need only one cartridge right now, rely on a printer model that isn’t named, or need a guaranteed page count for a specific mix of documents and images. The listing provides yield figures and describes chip-based recognition, but it doesn’t give enough detail to predict results for your particular printing habits. Start with the printer’s exact model number, then decide whether the two-cartridge format suits how you print.
