Lisa Frankenstein Collector's Edition DVD (191329258132) with Bonus Features
Product description
For a movie night built around offbeat horror comedy, Lisa Frankenstein pairs a high school crush with a very unusual resurrection. This DVD presents the film in its Collector's Edition format, with bonus features for viewers who want more than the main story. Choose it for a playful, darkly comic take on Frankenstein rather than a straight horror movie. The runtime is 1 hour and 42 minutes.
Practical tips
The story follows a misunderstood teenager and her high school crush, who happens to be a handsome corpse. After a series of playfully horrific events brings him back to life, they set out on a murderous journey in search of love and happiness, with a few missing body parts along the way. That mix of teen romance, macabre comedy, and horror gives the movie a distinct tone for a genre-themed night or a watch with friends who enjoy their scares with a comic edge.
The disc includes deleted scenes, feature commentary with director Zelda Williams, and featurettes titled “An Electric Connection,” “Resurrecting the '80s,” and “A Dark Comedy Duo.” These extras offer additional material for viewers interested in the film's characters, style, and production. Customer comments also highlight the humor and '80s feel, while reactions to value are mixed.
Benefits
The Collector's Edition brings together the feature film and several forms of bonus content, making it useful both for a first viewing and for revisiting the movie afterward. Deleted scenes add material beyond the theatrical story, while the director's commentary offers a guided perspective on the film. The featurettes give the disc a more behind-the-scenes angle, so it can suit viewers who enjoy exploring a movie's creative approach as well as watching the story itself.
Its appeal is the contrast between a familiar coming-of-age setup and an unconventional horror-comedy premise. If you are choosing between a conventional horror title and a lighter, more irreverent genre blend, this film leans into dark humor and romance alongside its macabre elements. The English Dolby Digital 5.1 audio and French and Spanish subtitles also provide viewing options for different language preferences.
