KOOTETA 9" x 36" Non-Slip Carpet Stair Treads, 15-Pack, Dark Gray
Product description
Some stair coverings are chosen to soften footsteps, others need to add grip to smooth indoor steps. KOOTETA’s 9" x 36" carpet treads combine a polyester surface with an adhesive backing. Looking for coverage on individual steps rather than a full stair runner? This 15-pack offers a practical way to add a cushioned surface where people and pets walk.
Key features
Each tread measures 9" x 36" and has a dark gray polyester surface. The carpet texture adds a softer feel underfoot, while the backing is designed to hold the tread in place on smooth indoor stairs. Used together, those features make the steps more comfortable to walk on and help reduce the sound of footsteps as people move between floors.
The adhesive backing is intended for smooth surfaces such as wood, marble, tile, and glass. Individual treads let you cover the stair surfaces themselves, rather than installing a continuous runner across the staircase. The dark gray color gives the steps a neutral look that can work with a range of home interiors.
Cleaning & care
For everyday upkeep, vacuum the treads to pick up dust, pet hair, and crumbs. For a deeper clean, they can be machine washed. After washing, let them dry in the shade, the care guidance recommends avoiding both direct sunlight and the dryer. If a tread needs repositioning or removal, the backing is designed to lift without leaving residue on the original stair surface.
Who it’s for
These treads suit households looking to add a carpeted, grippy surface to smooth indoor stairs, especially where children, older family members, or dogs use the steps. The cushioned polyester surface can also make a staircase feel less cold underfoot and soften the sound of regular foot traffic. Buyers commonly praise the grip, appearance, and straightforward installation, with some also noting use around pets. Those comments describe customer impressions, while the product’s dimensions and material help you assess how it fits your own staircase.
A useful scenario is a busy hallway staircase where family members and pets pass throughout the day: separate treads add a carpeted contact surface on each step and can be vacuumed as part of routine cleaning. The individual format is also worth considering if you want to cover steps without choosing a single continuous runner.
Practical questions
What surfaces can these treads be used on? They are designed for smooth indoor stairs, including wood, marble, tile, and glass. The adhesive backing is intended to keep each tread in place on these hard surfaces.
What size are the treads, and how do they fit? Each tread measures 9" x 36". The manufacturer describes this size for stair treads 36 to 42 inches long and says the treads can be trimmed to fit.
How should I clean them? Vacuum regularly for everyday dirt and pet hair. When needed, machine wash and dry in the shade rather than using a dryer or direct sunlight.
