HP 17.3-inch laptop with 16GB DDR4

Key points

For students, home-office users, and anyone who prefers a roomy screen and full-size number pad, this HP laptop is built around everyday work rather than a compact, travel-first setup.

Its 17.3-inch Full HD anti-glare display gives documents, browser tabs, and streaming video more space. The anti-glare finish is useful near bright windows or overhead lighting, though it does not change the laptop’s listed screen resolution of 1920 × 1080.

The AMD Ryzen 5 7430U processor and 16GB of DDR4 memory are suited to common productivity tasks and switching among applications. Storage is listed as 1.5TB total: a 512GB SSD plus a 1TB docking station. Keep in mind that the additional terabyte is part of the docking station set, not described as built-in laptop storage.

How to use it

This configuration makes sense for spreadsheets, online classes, video calls, web browsing, and streaming. The dedicated numeric keypad can make entering figures less fiddly, picture working through a budget with the spreadsheet open beside a reference page, rather than reaching for a separate number pad. AMD Radeon graphics are described for everyday use, light creative work, and casual gaming, not demanding graphics workloads.

The 720p HD camera covers the basics for remote meetings and classes. Windows 11 Pro is included, and Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 provide the listed wireless connections. Ports include USB-C, two USB-A ports, HDMI 1.4, a headphone/microphone jack, and an AC Smart pin.

Practical tips

Before choosing, think about where the laptop will sit most often. Its 17.3-inch display and listed weight of 4.58 lbs point toward a larger workstation-style machine, rather than something selected mainly for carrying around all day. Dimensions are 15.78 × 10.15 × 0.78 inches, which may matter if you already have a laptop sleeve or a tightly sized desk space.

The included 7-in-1 docking station adds 1TB of storage and comes with a 32GB MicroSD card with adapter, a Type-C data cable, a 3-in-1 charging cable, and a suede cleaning cloth. If you mainly need a laptop for files and everyday tasks, that bundled storage may be useful, if you need a slim, self-contained setup, the separate dock and accessories may be less appealing. The listing also says the seal is opened for the upgrade, with a one-year warranty on upgraded RAM and SSD from SnowBell and the original one-year manufacturer warranty on remaining components.

Before you decide

Is the full 1.5TB inside the laptop? No. The listing identifies a 512GB SSD and an additional 1TB in the docking station.

Does it have a numeric keypad? Yes. The full-size keyboard includes a dedicated number pad.

What graphics are listed? AMD Radeon Graphics, described for everyday productivity, light creative work, streaming, and casual gaming.

Buying verdict

It suits you if a large anti-glare screen, number pad, Windows 11 Pro, and bundled extra storage match your day-to-day routine. Not the best choice if you want a smaller, lighter machine or need graphics for demanding creative work or gaming. Compared with a basic laptop-only setup, this package brings more listed storage accessories, the tradeoff is that the extra 1TB comes through the docking station rather than the laptop’s SSD.
