Filter King FKFB14X146 MERV 8 Air Filters, 6-Pack, 13.75-Inch Actual Size

Choosing an HVAC filter often comes down to two practical priorities: finding a replacement that matches the system’s slot, or selecting a specific filtration rating for routine household use. The Filter King FKFB14X146 is a MERV 8 pleated filter sold in a six-pack for compatible residential air conditioners and furnaces, with a listed actual size of 13.75 x 13.75 x .75 inches.

Its six-filter format provides replacements for ongoing maintenance. The listed nominal size is 14 x 14 x 1 inches, so the actual measurements matter when checking fit.

Size & fit

These rectangular filters use a slide-in mounting style and are listed for air conditioners and furnaces in residential HVAC systems. The product name gives the nominal 14 x 14 x 1-inch size, while the stated actual dimensions are 13.75 x 13.75 x .75 inches. Use the actual measurements when comparing the filter with the one currently installed or the opening in your equipment, nominal labels alone do not establish an exact fit.

The manufacturer recommends changing one-inch filters every 30 to 90 days and says this filter can last up to 90 days. Replacement timing may depend on the conditions in the home and system, so treat that range as guidance rather than a guaranteed service interval. A practical use is keeping the next replacement on hand for scheduled home HVAC maintenance.

Strengths

MERV 8 and a pleated polypropylene construction are the defining details for buyers comparing everyday replacement filters. The manufacturer describes the pleats as capturing more particles while maintaining airflow, but the listing does not provide independent performance measurements. This is a straightforward choice for someone seeking a specified MERV rating and a multi-filter pack, rather than choosing solely by nominal dimensions or looking for a different filtration rating.

Buyer feedback is generally favorable about fit and function, with some customers saying the filters catch dust and dander without restricting airflow. Size feedback is mixed, however: while some report a suitable fit, others say the filters are shorter than expected. Some comments also differ on how sturdy the construction feels. Those observations are not a substitute for the listed dimensions, so matching the actual size to your system is the useful check before ordering.

You’ll appreciate it if you want six MERV 8 replacements for a compatible residential system and can match the stated actual dimensions to its filter slot. You may want to skip it if your equipment requires a different size or filtration rating, neither should be inferred from the nominal 14 x 14 x 1 label alone.

Final verdict

The Filter King FKFB14X146 makes sense for routine residential HVAC maintenance when MERV 8 is the rating you want and the actual dimensions match your system. The six-pack supports planned replacements, but the size distinction is important: confirm the 13.75 x 13.75 x .75-inch actual measurements rather than relying on the nominal label. If your system calls for a different size or rating, this listing does not establish that it will be suitable.
