ENGPOW EG127BLXNEW Fireproof File Box, 5200°F, Lockable, Collapsible

The silicone-coated fire-resistant cotton and aluminum foil lining is designed to help protect important papers from heat, while water-resistant construction adds another layer of protection. The ENGPOW file box gives letter- and legal-size hanging folders a dedicated place, with a lockable lid for organized home or office storage.

At 15.6" x 12.5" x 10.5" and 36 liters, it combines file storage with pockets for smaller valuables. Carry it by the adjustable handle or fold it down for storage when it is not in use.

The essentials

This hard-sided organizer uses PP boards to help it hold its shape, with a stated load capacity of at least 150 pounds. Its fire-resistant materials are rated to withstand temperatures up to 5200°F, and the reflective strip on the side helps make the box easier to spot in low light. The design also resists water and dust, making it useful for keeping paperwork together in a home office, closet, or other storage area. Fire-resistant protection is intended as added protection, keep exposure to fire as brief as possible.

Two compartments and mesh pockets on the lid and sides provide space for documents as well as items such as passports, photos, cards, or USB drives. The zipper closure and combination lock help keep the contents enclosed, and the included lock instructions explain how to use the lock. Two zippers make the lid accessible from either side. File folders are not included.

Compared with an open file tote, this enclosed box adds a lid, lock, and protective materials while still accommodating hanging folders. Buyers often describe it as spacious and convenient to carry, and some use it to move stored items between locations. Feedback on the lock and zipper is mixed, so their experiences vary.

Care & maintenance

To set up the box, unfold it and insert the base plate. When it is not needed, collapse it for more compact storage. Keep the box dry during cleaning: do not immerse or wash it in liquid. For combination-lock use, follow the included instructions.

Best use cases

Use the box to keep letter- or legal-size hanging folders together with personal records, albums, books, or other small valuables. The mesh pockets help separate smaller items from the main file area, while the carry handle makes it practical to move the organizer between rooms or locations. Its collapsible form also suits occasional document storage when a permanent filing cabinet is not the preferred setup.

Final verdict

For home-office filing or portable storage of important paperwork, the ENGPOW EG127BLXNEW combines hanging-folder space, a lockable closure, and fire-resistant, water-resistant materials in one collapsible box. It is especially useful when you want documents organized in a closed container that can be carried and stored away between uses.
