The stated uses include keeping dogs engaged and offering an activity during indoor downtime.

Getting the most from it

This toy is made for large dogs that chew at a moderate pace, rather than dogs that are especially powerful chewers. Benebone points power-chewing dogs toward its Classic chews. Matching the toy to your dog’s chewing style helps set a practical expectation for how it will fit into their routine. The manufacturer also advises keeping it away from households with peanut or other allergies.

A curved wishbone can be useful when a dog likes to hold a chew steady instead of chasing or batting a toy around. Offer it during a quiet indoor period, such as while your dog settles after activity or needs a boredom-busting chew. As with any chew toy, keep an eye on wear and replace it when needed, Benebone provides wear guidance for its chews.

Everyday use

The real bacon flavor and paw-friendly shape are the main features that distinguish this chew during daily use. It is intended to give adult, large-breed dogs a focused chewing activity, with additional recommended uses that include mental stimulation, teething, and anxiety relief. Its indoor-use designation makes it suited to home routines where a dog needs an activity without relying on an outdoor toy.

Buyer feedback describes the toy as engaging and notes that some dogs enjoy its texture, which they find less hard than comparable chews. Opinions on how long it lasts vary: some buyers say it holds up for months, while others report that their dogs chew through it sooner. These experiences are individual, so the intended fit—large dogs with moderate chewing habits—is a useful guide when choosing it.

When it makes sense

Choose the Benebone Wishbone if you want a large-format indoor chew with plant-based material, real bacon flavor, and a shape dogs can grip with their paws. It suits shoppers seeking a purpose-built chew for a moderate chewer, rather than a toy centered on squeaking, fetching, or power-chewing resistance. For an adult large dog that benefits from a dedicated chew during quiet time, its flavor, grip-friendly design, and stated boredom-busting use make it a practical addition to the routine.
