SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3P Wireless 61687 Gaming Headset, 40-hour Battery

Choosing a gaming headset can mean prioritising detailed game audio or a setup that also handles mobile listening. The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3P Wireless brings app-controlled game presets, 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth together, so you can tailor audio for a session and switch to a phone connection when needed.

Its neodymium magnetic drivers are designed to deliver clear highs, defined mids and deep bass. The detachable microphone supports 32KHz/16-bit audio for team chat, while the companion app offers more than 200 game presets, including profiles for Call of Duty and Fortnite.

What to know

The headset connects over 2.4GHz for gaming or Bluetooth for mobile audio. Quick-Switch lets you move between the two with a press of the power button, and separate presets help keep your game and mobile listening profiles suited to each activity. The USB-C dongle supports plug-and-play use with compatible platforms, the listed systems include PS5, PS4, PC and Switch 2.

Battery life is rated at up to 40 hours, with optimised fast charging providing up to 9 hours of playback from a 15-minute charge. At 260g, the over-ear design has a stretchy headband and multiple adjustment points. A dual-hinge construction completes a headset made for regular gaming and media use.

Buyer feedback is positive about sound, battery life, appearance and the lightweight feel. Opinions are more mixed on connectivity and durability, so those comments are worth weighing as personal experiences rather than guaranteed outcomes.

Everyday use

For a gaming session, use the app to select a profile suited to the game, then connect over 2.4GHz and use the detachable mic for team communication. If you want to take a call or listen to music afterwards, Bluetooth gives you another wireless connection without needing a separate headset. Which matters more in your setup: adjusting game audio quickly or being able to move between gaming and mobile listening? This model brings both into one headset.

Tips for day-to-day use

Use the companion app to choose from its game presets and adjust the sound profile while playing, without leaving the game. The manufacturer lists profiles for titles such as Fortnite, Call of Duty, Minecraft and GTA V. For a longer session, the adjustable headband and lightweight 260g build support a comfortable over-ear fit, the detachable microphone can be removed when it is not needed. A USB-C fast-charge top-up is useful when you want to get back to play with less time connected to power.
