Spec sheet

For a gaming session at home or audio on the move, the SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds bring wireless gaming and mobile listening together in a compact in-ear design. The Matcha Limited Edition offers quick switching between a 2.4GHz connection for gaming and Bluetooth 5.3 for mobile devices, so you can move between play and everyday listening without relying on a Bluetooth-only setup.

Active noise cancellation uses a four-microphone hybrid system, with Transparency Mode available when you want to remain aware of your surroundings. The Arctis Companion App adds more than 200 game audio presets that can be selected in real time, making it easier to tailor sound to the game you are playing.

Compatibility

Use the 2.4GHz wireless connection for gaming on Xbox, PC, PlayStation, Switch and compatible handheld devices, and Bluetooth 5.3 for mobile phones. This combination suits a setup that spans a console or computer and a phone, while keeping the earbuds useful beyond gaming. The product is the Xbox/PC version, and the listed gaming platforms also include PlayStation and Switch.

Practical tips

Choose from the small, medium and large eartips to find a comfortable fit before settling in for a longer session. For a more immersive game, switch on active noise cancellation, use Transparency Mode when you need to hear more of your surroundings. The companion app lets you access game-specific presets and customise the on-ear button controls, including options for ANC, microphone mute, volume and playback.

The charging case supports Qi wireless charging or USB-C charging and extends total listening time to up to 40 hours. A quick charge is useful when you have limited time before heading out or starting a session. IP55-rated resistance to water, dust and dirt also makes the earbuds suitable for everyday use beyond the gaming desk, including a gym visit or a walk in the rain.

Compared with standard Bluetooth earbuds, the Arctis GameBuds add a dedicated 2.4GHz gaming connection and game-focused audio presets. That makes them a practical fit for someone who wants one in-ear pair for gaming across the listed platforms and Bluetooth listening on a mobile phone, rather than a separate gaming headset and everyday earbuds.

Is it worth it?

Worth considering if you want gaming earbuds that can switch between 2.4GHz play and Bluetooth mobile use, with active noise cancellation, app-based presets and a charging case. The Matcha finish gives this Limited Edition a distinct look, while the range of eartip sizes, Transparency Mode and customisable controls support different listening situations. For a gaming setup that also calls for portable, everyday audio, these earbuds bring the key functions into one compact pair.
