GAOMON PD156 PRO Graphics Display, 15.6-inch Full HD IPS, 8192-Level Pen

Artists, illustrators and designers looking to draw and paint on a screen get a 15.6-inch display paired with a pressure-sensitive pen, making the PD156 PRO a practical choice for hands-on digital work.

Its full-laminated IPS screen has a 1920 x 1080 resolution, an 88% NTSC colour gamut and support for 16.7 million colours. Full lamination brings the pen tip closer to the cursor, helping your strokes feel more direct as you work.

The battery-free pen offers 8192 pressure levels and supports tilt up to 60 degrees. A stand and digital pen are included, so you can set up a dedicated drawing space at your desk.

Key takeaways

The PD156 PRO combines a screen for drawing with shortcuts designed to keep common actions close at hand. Nine programmable express keys sit alongside an OSD button and a quick dial. Set the express keys to suit your preferences in the driver, and assign the dial up to three custom functions for quicker access while painting or editing.

The USB Type-C interface makes connecting the display simpler, while the supplied 2-in-1 cable helps keep the desktop setup tidy. The display is compatible with laptops or desktops running Windows 7 or later and macOS 10.12 or later, and works with drawing software including Photoshop, Illustrator, Krita, GIMP and MediBang Paint Pro.

Everyday use

For a typical drawing session, connect the display to a compatible computer, open your preferred art programme and use the pen directly on screen. Pressure sensitivity supports varied pen strokes, while tilt support gives you another way to shape marks. The shortcut keys can be assigned to familiar actions, and the quick dial can be set up for three functions you use regularly.

Would a screen-based drawing setup suit your workflow better than a graphics tablet without its own display? The PD156 PRO lets you see your artwork beneath the pen as you draw, while bringing custom controls onto the same device. Its stand and non-slip rubber strips on the back support a steadier desk setup.

Who it’s for

This display is aimed at artists, illustrators and designers who want to sketch, paint or edit artwork on screen using a pen. It is also suitable for people working across supported desktop art applications, from Photoshop and Illustrator to Krita, FireAlpaca and SketchBook Pro. If you already use keyboard shortcuts or repeat the same tool changes throughout a session, the programmable keys and customisable dial give you a way to tailor the controls around that routine.

Is it worth it?

It makes sense if you want a dedicated drawing display with a full-laminated 15.6-inch screen, a battery-free pen and controls you can customise for your own process. The Full HD IPS panel gives you a clear canvas, and the pressure and tilt support add useful input options for drawing and painting. For creative work at a compatible computer, the PD156 PRO brings the screen, pen and shortcut controls together in one desk-based setup.
