StarTech 208UE-USB4-DOCK USB4 Docking Station, dual 4K, 100W charging

Usage tips

Set up a shared desk for a laptop user who needs two screens, wired networking and charging through one connection. The StarTech USB4 docking station brings those tasks together, with driverless plug-and-play operation across macOS and Windows. Its dual-display support makes it useful for keeping reference material open beside a main working window, while the 2.5GbE connection provides a wired network option.

For a multi-screen workstation, this is a more complete approach than using a simple display adapter: it also brings USB connections, network access and laptop charging to the desk. Connect the dock to the host using USB4 or Thunderbolt 4/5.

Benefits

Support for dual 4K at up to 144Hz or a single 8K display at 60Hz gives users a choice of display arrangements to suit the workstation. The dock can deliver up to 100W of laptop charging through the host connection, helping keep power and desk connectivity together. Five USB ports provide connections for peripherals, and 2.5GbE adds a wired network connection for compatible work setups.

Driverless operation helps make the dock straightforward to deploy across macOS and Windows systems, including shared desks and hot-desking spaces. For managed work environments, PXE Boot and Wake-on-LAN support can assist IT workflows. Integrated lock slots add a practical security feature, while surface and VESA mounting options provide ways to organise the dock in a fixed workspace, mounting options are sold separately. The included locking USB-C host cable helps keep the connection in place in busy shared areas.

Its housing uses 75% post-consumer recycled plastic, and it ships in FSC Mix packaging. It is a considered fit for teams looking to standardise workstation connections while keeping display, network and charging needs in one dock.
