Yellow Mountain Imports FX-AM012-A Indigo Tides American Mahjong Set, 166 Tiles

Set up a four-player game night with the Yellow Mountain Imports Indigo Tides American Mahjong Set. Its 166 engraved melamine tiles cover the pieces needed for play, with traditional Chinese characters, Roman letters and Arabic numerals to make tile faces easy to read.

The blue geometric tile backs bring a contemporary look to the table, while the set is designed for American and Chinese Mahjong rules. Want the playing pieces and table accessories organized together? The included racks, dice, wind indicator and scoring coins make this a ready-to-arrange set for shared games.

A zippered Oxford cloth case, with a separate interior pocket and matching pouches, keeps tiles and racks organized between sessions. The set is intended for adults, with a recommended age of 14 and up.

Key features

The 166 melamine tiles include Circles, Bamboos, Characters, Dragons, Winds, Flowers, Jokers and blank spares. Engraved markings combine traditional Chinese characters with Roman letters and Arabic numerals, giving players more than one familiar way to identify the pieces. The geometric blue backs add a distinctive Indigo Tides finish to the tabletop.

Four wooden racks come with magnetic pushers. The pushers attach to the back of each rack for building walls and to the top for compact storage. A wind indicator, three dice, pastel Wright Patterson scoring coins and an instruction booklet round out the accessories. Rather than sourcing these core pieces separately, players can bring the main elements of a game together in one set.

How it fits

Designed for four players, this set suits a regular game night at home or a Mahjong gathering with friends. Its mix of tiles and accessories supports both American and Chinese Mahjong rules, so it can serve players who enjoy more than one style of play. The wooden racks and magnetic pushers help keep tiles arranged during a session, then can be stored compactly with the rest of the set.

The carrying case measures 55 x 24.5 x 7.5cm and has a zippered closure and interior storage pocket. Matching pouches help keep the tiles and racks organized when packing the set away or taking it to another playing space. Tile dimensions are 30 x 23 x 13mm.

Who it’s for

This set is suited to adults who want a coordinated Mahjong collection for four-player games, whether they are building a home game-night setup or adding a portable set to their regular gatherings. The engraved faces and varied markings help make the tiles easy to identify, while the racks, dice and wind indicator provide practical pieces for play.

Buyers have praised the set’s appearance, blue tile backs, sturdy feel and magnetic racks, and some appreciate how straightforward it is to use. Feedback about the tiles themselves is mixed, so reactions to that part of the set vary. The overall design makes it a considered choice for players who value an organized set with a modern look as well as the essentials for a shared game.
