VIVO Mount-FDKB1 Wall-Mounted Keyboard Tray, Folding 24-Inch Platform with Mouse Pad
Product description
A wall-mounted folding platform can free up desk space while keeping a keyboard and mouse within reach. The VIVO Mount-FDKB1 is designed for standard-size keyboards and mice, with a built-in mouse pad and Velcro pads to help keep the keyboard in place. Fold it up when typing is done, using the magnetic closure to hold it for storage. Its stated support limit is 22 lbs.
Key points
Unlike a tray that attaches to a desk, this model mounts to a wall beneath a monitor, making it relevant for standing workstations and other setups where a wall-mounted typing surface suits the layout. The platform measures 23.6” x 7.9”, and the product is described as fitting standard-size keyboards and mice. That makes keyboard dimensions an important part of the decision: the listing does not claim compatibility with oversized keyboards.
The steel construction supports up to 22 lbs. Velcro pads attach to the tray and the underside of the keyboard in matching positions, helping prevent the keyboard from shifting during use or while the tray is folded away. A mouse pad is included, so the mouse has a dedicated surface rather than being used directly on the metal platform. Three cable openings are provided for routing keyboard and mouse cables.
Size & fit
At 23.6” x 7.9”, the platform is intended for a standard-size keyboard and mouse rather than a broad desktop setup. Measure the keyboard and consider how the mouse will sit alongside it before choosing a mounting position. The wall-mount design can be installed on drywall, wood studs, or concrete or brick surfaces, the product description says that instructions and hardware are supplied for each mounting option. The stated support capacity is 22 lbs, so the combined load should stay within that limit.
It’s a good fit if you want a compact typing surface that folds up between work sessions, particularly for an office, school, retail space, restaurant, or similar setting. It might not be a great match if you need a tray for an oversized keyboard or want a surface that remains open as part of a larger desk area.
Getting the most from it
Plan the position around the monitor, keyboard and mouse before fixing the tray to the wall. The three cable openings offer routes for keyboard and mouse cables, while the Velcro pads help hold the keyboard in its intended position. After typing, the platform folds upwards and a magnet holds it closed, clearing the area below it. This fold-away arrangement is useful where an open tray would take up space between periods of use.
A wall-mounted tray is a different choice from a desk-mounted or permanently open platform: it suits a workspace where the wall is the preferred mounting surface and folding storage matters. Installation depends on the wall surface, and the included hardware and instructions are described as covering the listed options. The product also comes with a 3 Year Warranty.
Final verdict
The VIVO Mount-FDKB1 is worth considering when a standard keyboard-and-mouse setup needs a compact, fold-up position beneath a monitor. Its mouse pad, cable openings, magnetic closure and keyboard-retaining Velcro pads address practical details of everyday use. The main fit check is the 23.6” x 7.9” platform and the stated support limit of 22 lbs, choose another approach if your keyboard does not fit the standard-size description or you need a larger, always-open work surface.
