Q-image Ink Cartridges 243/244

The black-and-colour pairing gives you both cartridge types for routine printing in one pack, rather than requiring separate purchases. This Q-image replacement set is listed for selected Canon PIXMA printers and uses PG-243XL black and CL-244XL colour cartridges.

For everyday documents, that means you can keep a black cartridge for text and have a colour cartridge available for pages that need colour. The listed yields are estimates, not a promise of the same number of pages for every print job.

Technical details

The pack contains one PG-243XL black cartridge and one CL-244XL colour cartridge. The stated page yields are 400 pages for black and 350 pages for colour, each measured at 5% coverage. Actual output depends on how much ink your pages use, so graphics-heavy documents may not match those figures.

These are described as replacement cartridges compatible with Canon 243 and 244 cartridges. That distinction matters if you are specifically shopping for Canon-branded originals. It may suit you if you want both black and colour replacements together for regular home printing, rather than buying cartridges individually. Given the way this set is configured, its usefulness depends on your printer being one of the listed models.

Practical compatibility

The listing names these PIXMA models: MG2420, MG2450, MG2520, MG2522, MG2525, MG2550, MG2555, MG2920, MG2922, MG2924, MG2950, MG3020, MG3022 and MG3029. It also lists MX490, MX492 and MX498, TR4520, TR4522 and TR4527, TS202, TS302, TS3100, TS3120, TS3122, TS3129, TS3320 and TS3322, plus IP2820 and IP2850.

Use that list as the boundary for your decision. A printer from the same PIXMA family is not automatically covered if its model number is absent. Check the model name shown on your printer against the listing before choosing these replacements.

Usage tips

This set makes practical sense for a household that prints a mix of text and occasional colour pages. For example, you might use the black cartridge for a form or a school handout, then switch to the colour cartridge for a page with coloured headings. If most of your printing is high-coverage artwork or frequent photo output, the stated page counts may be less useful as a guide to how long the cartridges will last.

Keep the black and colour designations in mind when replacing a cartridge, and match PG-243XL with black and CL-244XL with colour. No printer setup steps or storage guidance are provided in the product details, so this listing alone does not establish a particular installation process.

Three specific questions

What comes in the pack? One PG-243XL black replacement cartridge and one CL-244XL colour replacement cartridge.

What page yields are stated? Up to 400 pages for black and 350 for colour, with both figures based on 5% coverage. They should be treated as listed estimates rather than guaranteed results for every print pattern.

Are the cartridges identified as XL? Yes. The black cartridge is identified as PG-243XL and the colour cartridge as CL-244XL.

Before buying

Choose this set when your printer appears in the compatibility list and you want black and colour replacements together for ordinary home documents. It is a less suitable choice if you need a model that is not named, want Canon-branded original cartridges, or rely on a particular page count for ink-intensive printing. No ink-volume figures or additional performance details are provided, so the page-yield estimates are the main guide available here.
