Valuetoner Black Ink Cartridge 64XL

The two-cartridge pack gives you a remanufactured 64XL black ink option for compatible HP printers, with a stated yield of 709 pages per cartridge at 5% coverage. That makes it most relevant for routine black-text printing, such as letters, forms and schoolwork, rather than someone looking for a complete colour ink set. Valuetoner says the cartridges use upgraded chips and are tested for compatibility, but the model number on your printer is still the detail to match before choosing this replacement.

Best use cases

This pack is aimed at households or small workspaces that go through black ink and want two replacement cartridges on hand. For example, if you print a few forms and several pages of notes, having a second cartridge available means you are not relying on a single replacement to cover the next stretch of everyday printing. It is a black-only pack, so it suits a printer that already has its colour ink handled or a job that mainly uses black text.

The stated 709-page yield is measured at 5% coverage per cartridge. That figure is a reference, not a promise of the same number of pages in every home: a page with dense text, graphics or large dark areas uses more ink than a lightly printed page. It makes sense if your regular jobs are mostly text and your printer appears on the compatibility list. If you print frequent colour pages as well, a black-only replacement will not cover that need.

The compatibility list is extensive, but it is not a reason to assume every printer with a similar name is covered. Check the exact model number against the supplied list. The listing also describes quality testing, though it does not provide further test results or details about performance over time.

Where it shines

The useful distinction here is the remanufactured format: it offers a replacement route for buyers who do not specifically need a new cartridge. Compared with buying a black-and-colour bundle, this two-pack keeps the purchase focused on black ink, that is practical if black is what you are running low on, but less suited to restocking every colour at once. What matters more to you: a second black cartridge ready to go, or a bundle that also covers colour? The answer depends on which ink your printer actually needs.

For a stack of plain-text pages, the advertised yield gives you a concrete way to compare the pack with another cartridge option, while the 5% coverage condition keeps that number in perspective. The product details do not specify a colour cartridge, ink volume or an expected yield for heavier printing, so those are not useful assumptions to make from the page count alone.

Final decision

This is worth considering if you own one of the listed HP models and want two remanufactured 64XL black cartridges for everyday text printing. It may not be worth it if your printer is not explicitly listed, you need colour ink, or your pages usually have heavy coverage and you are relying on the stated page yield as a guaranteed result. With what the listing says, the strongest reason to choose it is the combination of a two-cartridge pack and a clearly stated yield, the main trade-off is that actual output depends on what you print.
