The Mummy (1932) 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray, HDR10, Bilingual
Product description
For classic-horror fans seeking a landmark monster film in a 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray edition, The Mummy brings Boris Karloff’s celebrated performance home. This bilingual release pairs the 1932 film with HDR10. It also includes a substantial collection of documentaries, archival material and feature commentaries.
Getting the most from it
The story follows Imhotep, an Egyptian high priest brought back to life by archaeologists after 3,700 years. As he searches for the woman he loved, the film builds its horror through atmosphere, mystery and Karloff’s unsettling presence. Its mix of ancient-Egyptian legend and classic monster storytelling suits a focused movie night as well as a place in a collection of Universal horror films.
The 4K Ultra HD presentation is described as four times sharper than Full HD and includes HDR10. That makes this edition a clear fit for viewers choosing a higher-resolution format over a standard Blu-ray, while the included Blu-ray offers another disc format in the same release. The film runs for 1 hour and 14 minutes, making it an easy pick for a shorter feature-length viewing.

What stands out
Karloff’s Imhotep anchors a story that moves from archaeological discovery to an obsessive search for lost love. The film’s makeup, created by Jack Pierce, is central to its enduring monster-movie identity, while Karl Freund’s direction gives the tale its mysterious atmosphere. These elements make the release appealing not only for a classic horror screening, but also for viewers interested in how early Universal monster films shaped the genre.
The bonus features add useful context beyond the feature itself. Mummy Dearest: A Horror Tradition Unearthed and Unraveling the Legacy of The Mummy explore the film’s place in horror, while He Who Made Monsters: The Life and Art of Jack Pierce focuses on the artist behind its distinctive makeup. The Mummy Archives, 100 Years of Universal: The Carl Laemmle Era and the trailer gallery round out the collection. Three listed feature commentaries bring perspectives from makeup artist Rick Baker, film historians and other contributors, together, they give fans several ways to revisit the film and its production.
