My Spy - DVD + Digital (Bilingual), PG Action-Comedy Film

For viewers looking for an action comedy with a family-oriented story, My Spy pairs CIA intrigue with the unexpected humour of a young girl outsmarting a hardened operative.

Dave Bautista stars as JJ, a CIA operative sent undercover to watch a family. Chloe Coleman plays Sophie, the clever nine-year-old who discovers his surveillance and makes a deal of her own.

What happens when a spy’s cover depends on keeping a child’s secret? Their unlikely partnership drives a story that blends action and comedy, with Ken Jeong, Kristen Schaal and Parisa Fitz-Henley among the cast.

Why it makes sense

This DVD + Digital edition brings together the film and a digital copy option, so you can choose between watching on DVD and redeeming the digital copy. The story gives the action a character-led twist: Sophie uses her tech savvy to uncover JJ’s operation, then asks him to teach her how to be a spy. Their changing dynamic makes the film as much about an unlikely friendship as it is about undercover work.

The movie runs for 1 hour and 39 minutes and is rated PG. Its action-and-adventure and comedy genres, alongside its kids-and-family classification, make it a natural pick for a shared movie night when you want a mix of spy antics and playful character moments. English and French Canadian audio are listed in Dolby Digital 5.1.
