Netac US5 256GB Portable SSD with USB-C, USB-A and USB 3.2
Product description
Move photos and videos between a laptop, a USB-C device or a game console with the Netac US5. Its 256GB capacity gives you room for files, music and media. Choose the USB-A or USB-C connection to suit the device at hand. It also works for keeping music available in a compatible in-car system.
Key features
The US5 combines USB-A and USB-C connectors in one compact drive, so it can connect directly to devices with either port. That’s useful when your files move between newer USB-C equipment and computers or other devices with USB-A. Its USB 3.2 interface supports read speeds of up to 400 MB/s and write speeds of up to 300 MB/s, actual results vary with the host device, interface and usage conditions. For frequent transfers of photos, videos and other large files, this gives you a portable alternative to relying on a larger external drive.
A zinc-alloy casing and double-sided flip cover protect the connector, with the casing designed to resist drops and scratches. The cover makes the drive easy to carry while helping shield the interface between uses. Buyers speak positively about transfer speed and construction, while feedback on reliability and durability is mixed. Opinions on the available storage also vary, so consider how your file collection fits within the 256GB capacity.
Size & fit
At 78 × 23 × 9.65 mm and about 50 g, the US5 is made for portable storage that can travel with your everyday devices. Its compact shape suits a laptop bag or a small storage pocket, and the flip cover keeps the connector protected when you’re on the move. It’s a practical fit for moving files between locations rather than keeping an external drive set up on a desk.
Who it’s for
This drive suits people who want one portable storage device for both USB-A and USB-C equipment. It can help free space on a computer by moving photos, videos, music and other files to a separate drive, or make those files easier to carry between a home computer and a laptop. The listed compatible devices also include game consoles and in-car music systems, making it useful for more than computer-to-computer transfers.
If your main need is a compact drive for carrying files between different port types, the dual interface is a practical advantage over choosing a drive with only USB-A or only USB-C. For a simple backup destination, its 256GB capacity provides a defined amount of portable storage, for regular large-file transfers, the stated read and write speeds help explain why the USB 3.2 format is worth considering.
Final verdict
The Netac US5 brings 256GB of storage, USB-A and USB-C connectivity, and a protective flip-cover design into a compact drive. It makes sense if you want to carry photos, videos, music or other files between compatible devices without relying on a single connector type. Its combination of portable size and dual-interface convenience is the key reason to choose it for everyday file storage and transfers.
