What it works with

Use the Thor Pro as internal storage in a compatible laptop or desktop with an M.2 PCIe NVMe connection. It is also listed as compatible with the Sony PlayStation 5, making it an option for adding storage to a supported gaming setup. Its M.2 2280 form factor helps keep the installation compact, and the single-sided layout is suited to slim laptop designs. Confirm that the device supports an M.2 PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD before installation.

This internal-drive approach suits a system upgrade where storage is installed inside the device. If you need to move files between multiple computers regularly, portable external storage serves a different purpose, the Thor Pro is intended for a compatible internal slot.

Tips for day-to-day use

For game libraries, multimedia files and regularly used applications, the 1TB capacity provides a dedicated place to keep frequently accessed content. The advertised read and write speeds can support quick loading and file transfers, while the Gen4 controller and cache technologies are designed to help with sustained writes and latency.

Lexar DiskMaster gives you a way to check drive health, manage drive data and perform firmware updates. Buyer feedback often highlights the drive’s speed and quick loading, along with straightforward installation. These are user impressions, while installation itself depends on the layout and support of the host device. Follow the device manufacturer’s installation guidance when fitting an internal SSD.

When it makes sense

Choose the Thor Pro when you want a 1TB internal NVMe upgrade for a compatible laptop, desktop or PS5, and value a compact M.2 format alongside Gen4 speeds. It brings storage and management features together for everyday gaming and multimedia use, with DiskMaster available for ongoing drive care. For a system with a supported M.2 PCIe NVMe slot, it offers a focused way to add internal storage without relying on a separate external drive.
