Anycubic Kobra X Combo 3D Printer
Product description
Built-in multicolour printing is the Kobra X Combo’s main draw: it comes with one ACE 2 Pro unit for printing in seven colours, so you can make projects with colour changes without starting with a single-colour setup. Its 260 × 260 × 260 mm build volume gives you room for larger models as well as smaller decorative pieces. The listing also describes filament drying, automatic levelling and remote monitoring, which could make it a more capable home-workshop setup than a basic printer. The trade-off is a more involved system, and filament is not included.
Getting the most from it

The ACE GEN 2 system is designed to manage multicolour and multi-material prints. For a toy with separate coloured details, or a home décor piece that would otherwise need painting, the included ACE 2 Pro lets you start with seven colours. The system can expand to 19 colours with four ACE 2 Pro units, so that capacity depends on adding equipment beyond the included unit.

The printer supports PLA, PETG, TPU, PVA and ASA, and the ACE 2 Pro combines filament drying with humidity monitoring and automatic filament detection. That may be useful if you switch between materials or want to keep filament ready between jobs. The listing states a maximum speed of 600 mm/s, actual print time will depend on the model and settings, so speed claims are best treated as a maximum rather than a promise for every project. For TPU, the manufacturer recommends 68D.

Why it’s worth it
This combo is aimed at people who want more than a straightforward single-colour printer. Automatic levelling, a 720P camera and features such as spaghetti and foreign-object detection are intended to reduce hands-on monitoring. The printer can also resume after a power loss, while Wi-Fi and LAN support remote control through the Anycubic app and slicer. These features make it easier to keep an eye on a longer print without staying beside the machine.

If you prioritize colourful, multi-material projects and assisted monitoring, those extras have a clear purpose, if you prefer a simpler workflow for basic one-colour parts, a more basic printer may be easier to manage. It suits you if you expect to use the colour system, drying station and monitoring tools rather than buying them for occasional novelty.
Worth noting

The included setup provides seven-colour printing, not the maximum 19-colour configuration, that requires four ACE 2 Pro units. Filament must be purchased separately, so the printer is not ready to produce a finished print straight out of the box. Multicolour printing also involves material changes, which can add complexity compared with printing a part in one colour. The listing says ACE GEN 2 reduces purge length, but the result will depend on the print and material choices.

The unit is described as operating at no more than 48 dB, but that figure alone cannot tell you how noticeable it will be in your particular room. It’s better to avoid it if you only need occasional, simple prints and do not want to manage extra filament or a multi-material system.

When to choose it

Choose the Kobra X Combo if seven-colour printing, a 260 × 260 × 260 mm build area and automated features match projects you already plan to make. It is also worth considering if you want the option to expand the colour setup later, while accepting that the 19-colour configuration requires additional ACE 2 Pro units. If your priority is a straightforward printer for single-colour parts, that extra system may bring more complexity than you need.
