ELECOM M-XT4DRBK-G Left-Handed Wireless Trackball Mouse, 6 Buttons

Everyday use

For everyday work at a desk, the ELECOM M-XT4DRBK-G lets you move the cursor with a thumb-operated trackball rather than sliding the whole mouse across the surface. Its left-handed shape is designed for left-hand use, while wireless operation keeps the desktop clear of a mouse cable.

With six buttons and four-way scrolling, it brings common navigation controls within reach for browsing, documents and other computer tasks. The red trackball is paired with an optical sensor, and a switchable DPI setting gives you a choice of cursor speeds.

What stands out

A trackball offers a different approach to pointer control from a conventional mouse: the device stays in place while your thumb moves the ball. Would that suit a desk where you want to keep mouse movement contained? It can be useful when moving a mouse across the available surface is less convenient, while the four-way scroll function helps navigate through pages and content.

The six buttons can be assigned functions using ELECOM Mouse Assistant software, available to download from the ELECOM website. This lets you tailor button actions to the way you work, rather than relying only on default controls. Switch between 750 and 1500 DPI to choose a slower or faster cursor response for the task at hand.

Buyer feedback is positive about comfort and reliability overall, though opinions on ball smoothness vary. That makes the key choice a matter of control style: a thumb-operated trackball for stationary use, or a conventional mouse if you prefer moving the device itself.
