TRUE IMAGE Drum Unit, DR-920
Product description
When a compatible Brother printer needs a new imaging drum, this TRUE IMAGE DR920 replacement is sold as a two-pack. It is a drum unit, not toner, so it addresses a different replacement need than a toner cartridge. The listed yield is up to 45,000 pages per drum at 5% coverage on Letter/A4 paper. That figure gives you a useful reference, but it is not a promise that every print job will reach the same total.
Technical details
The package includes two black DR920 drum units. The stated page yield is up to 45,000 pages for each drum at 5% coverage, which means the rating is tied to a specific coverage level rather than every possible mix of documents. Pages with more printed content may use the drum differently, so treat the figure as a benchmark, not a guaranteed replacement schedule.
This is not toner. If your printer needs toner rather than a drum unit, this pack does not fill that need. Keeping the distinction clear can save an unnecessary purchase: toner and drum units are separate consumables, and the product listing identifies this one specifically as a drum.
Requirements
The listing names these compatible printer models: HL-L5210DN, HL-L5210DW, HL-L5215DW, HL-L6210DW, HL-L6217DW, HL-L6310DW, HL-L6415DW, HL-EX415DW, DCP-L5510DN, MFC-L5710DN, MFC-L5710DW, MFC-L5715DW, MFC-L5915DW, MFC-L6810DW, MFC-L6915DW, and MFC-EX915DW. Match the full model number on your printer to this list before ordering, a similar-looking model name alone is not enough to establish compatibility.
It makes sense if you already know your printer needs a DR920 drum and want two replacements on hand. If your printer is asking for toner, or its model is not listed, You may want to skip it if you cannot confirm that it calls for this specific drum unit.
Usage tips
Check the printer’s model label and the part number for the replacement it needs before opening the package. When you install a drum, follow the printer’s own instructions rather than treating it like a toner refill, the listing does not provide installation steps. For a small office printing mostly text, the 5% coverage rating can help frame how long a drum might last. A stack of dense graphics or heavily filled pages is a different workload, so the advertised yield may not reflect your day-to-day output.
The two-pack is useful for keeping a spare available, but it is less suited to someone who only needs toner or wants to buy a single drum. The product details also do not specify an installation guide or additional accessories, so plan around the drum units themselves.
Questions before you buy
Does this pack include toner? No. It contains two DR920 drum units and is explicitly identified as not toner.
How many pages is each drum rated for? Up to 45,000 pages per drum at 5% coverage on Letter/A4 paper. Actual output can differ with page coverage.
Which printers are listed as compatible? The listing names specific HL, DCP, and MFC models in the Requirements section. Confirm your exact model against that list before buying.
Final verdict
This two-pack is worth considering when your printer is one of the listed models and you need a DR920 drum rather than a toner cartridge. The per-drum yield figure is useful for planning, but its 5% coverage basis matters, especially for print jobs with heavy coverage. If the part your printer needs is uncertain, identify that first, the extra unit is only useful if the DR920 is the right replacement.
