Cool Toner TN229 TN229XL Compatible Toner Cartridges, 5-Pack with Chips

Preinstalled chips mean this five-cartridge set does not require transferring the chips from your original TN-229 cartridges. That can simplify replacing toner in a compatible Brother color laser printer.

The pack includes two black cartridges and one each in cyan, magenta, and yellow. Listed yields are 3,000 pages for black and 2,300 pages for each color cartridge, based on Letter/A4 pages at 5% coverage.

These are compatible cartridges, not Brother OEM toner. Buyer feedback on color output is mixed, so the set may be less suitable when consistent color reproduction is a top priority.

The model list is the key buying check: match your printer’s exact model before choosing this set. The listed yields provide a comparison point when estimating how often you might replace toner, but actual page counts can vary with coverage and print content. A page with dense graphics uses toner differently from one with mostly text, so the stated yield should not be read as a guaranteed count for every job.

Practical tips

For a printer that uses one of the listed models, this bundle offers a complete color replacement set plus a second black cartridge. The preinstalled chips are intended to avoid moving the chips from the original TN 229 or TN-229XL cartridges. It’s a great fit if you need black and all three color toners together and want a compatible alternative rather than Brother-branded OEM cartridges.

Customers describe the cartridges as working with their Brother printers, and some say the printer recognized the set immediately. Color impressions are less consistent: some buyers like the output, while others mention yellow tones, streaks, or smudges. These are reported experiences, not a promise that the same issue will occur in every printer. If color-critical work is your main use, that mixed feedback is worth weighing against the convenience of buying a full set at once.

Included in the package

The stated package contains five toner cartridges: two TN229XL black cartridges and one each of TN229XL cyan, magenta, and yellow. The listing identifies them as compatible TN229/TN229XL cartridges with chips already installed. No other accessories are specified.

Final verdict

Choose this Cool Toner set when your printer appears on the compatibility list and you want all four toner colors, with an extra black cartridge, in one purchase. It’s not for you if you specifically require Brother OEM toner. The stated page yields and preinstalled chips make the contents easy to assess, while the mixed buyer comments on color output are a reason to consider your print needs before choosing a compatible set over an OEM-focused option.
