Smart Ink 4pT822XL822XL Remanufactured 822XL Ink Cartridge 4-Pack

If you need to refill black and color ink together, this remanufactured four-cartridge set covers all four colors in one purchase. If you only need to replace one depleted color, a complete set may not match that need as closely.

The cartridges are replacements for Epson 822XL and are listed for specific WorkForce Pro printers. Compatibility is the key detail to weigh before choosing them.

At a glance

The pack contains one black, one cyan, one magenta, and one yellow cartridge. Smart Ink lists compatibility with the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3820, WF-4820, WF-4830, and WF-4834. These are remanufactured replacements, not original Epson cartridges, so check your printer model and the 822XL cartridge requirement before ordering.

The stated yield is up to 1,100 pages for the black cartridge and up to 1,100 pages for each color cartridge. Actual results can vary with what you print, so treat those figures as estimates rather than a promise of how long the set will last. A two-year manufacturer warranty is listed, and the product information also offers customer support.

Practical tips

This set is most useful when a printer needs several colors replenished, such as for a mix of everyday documents and color pages. For example, someone preparing printed handouts could replace black and the three color cartridges together instead of sourcing each color separately. If only one cartridge is empty, compare the need for a full set against that narrower replacement task.

Smart Ink says the cartridges use its latest chip version and are intended to work with the listed printers, including models with the latest firmware. However, customer feedback is mixed on recognition and firmware compatibility: some buyers report that their printer does not recognize the cartridges. Would you rather replace all four colors at once, or prioritize the predictability of a cartridge specifically accepted by your printer? That trade-off matters here, particularly if you depend on printing without interruption.

Getting the most from it

Confirm the exact printer model and cartridge designation before installing the set. The listing names WF-3820, WF-4820, WF-4830, and WF-4834, compatibility with other printers is not established by the provided information. Keep in mind that a claim about a current chip version does not eliminate the recognition issues mentioned by some buyers.

The manufacturer recommends a quick printhead cleaning before printing, noting that dried ink can contribute to streaks or faded output. Buyers also describe varied results: some praise ink quality and ease of installation, while others report colors that look off or ink that does not last as expected. Feedback on support is positive in some accounts, but those reports do not guarantee a particular outcome. Worth considering if you need all four 822XL colors and your printer is one of the listed models.

Should you buy it?

This Smart Ink pack makes sense for a compatible WorkForce Pro owner who wants a remanufactured black-and-color set and is comfortable weighing buyer reports alongside the product’s compatibility claims. The stated yield and included colors make it straightforward to understand what the pack is intended to cover, while the warranty and support information may matter if assistance is needed.

Not the best choice if a failed cartridge recognition would be especially disruptive, given the compatibility concerns reported by some buyers. Those prioritizing the manufacturer’s own cartridge route may prefer that approach, this set is an alternative for buyers willing to consider a remanufactured replacement and the mixed experiences reported with printer recognition, firmware, and color output.
