Aztech 80A CF280A Black Toner Cartridge, Compatible 2-Pack

For owners of compatible HP LaserJet Pro 400 printers who need black toner for monochrome documents, this Aztech 80A CF280A replacement comes as a two-cartridge pack. Each cartridge is listed with an estimated yield of 2,700 pages at 5% coverage. That makes the pack suited to keeping a spare on hand, while a single-cartridge purchase may make more sense when you only need to replace toner once.

The essentials

This is a compatible black toner cartridge, not an HP-branded cartridge. The listed printer matches include the LaserJet Pro 400 M401A, M401D, M401N, M401DN, M401DNE and M401DW, along with the MFP M425DN and M425DW. Check your printer’s exact model before ordering, especially if its name differs from these listed models.

The box contains two cartridges. The stated 2,700-page yield applies to each cartridge and is based on letter/A4 paper at 5% coverage, actual results can vary with what you print and how much of each page is covered. Because this toner is black and the specified output is monochrome, it is intended for black-and-white printing rather than color documents. The listing also states a two-year manufacturer warranty.

Buyer feedback is favorable on value and general quality, but experiences are not uniform. Some customers describe clear output and straightforward installation, while others report mixed print results, shorter-than-expected toner life, or difficulty installing the cartridge. A small number also mention jamming. Those reports are worth weighing if predictable output and a consistently trouble-free replacement matter more to you than buying a compatible two-pack.

Everyday use

For routine documents such as letters, forms, and work pages, the black monochrome format fits a compatible laser printer without requiring a color cartridge. With two included, you can install one and keep the other available for a later replacement instead of buying another cartridge immediately. The stated page yield is a reference point, not a guarantee for every print job: dense pages use toner differently from pages close to the listed 5% coverage basis.

Before choosing it, match the full printer model against the compatibility list rather than relying on “LaserJet Pro 400” alone. The product name also mentions CF280X/80X, but the item described here is the 80A CF280A two-pack, it should not be mistaken for the separate 80X cartridge variant.

Best use cases

This pack is most relevant for people who print black-and-white pages on one of the listed M401 or M425 models and would rather keep a second replacement ready. For occasional printing, a single cartridge can be a simpler fit, for color output or a printer outside the compatibility list, this black, model-specific replacement does not address that need.

It suits you if you want two compatible CF280A cartridges for a listed printer and are comfortable considering a replacement brand rather than an HP-branded cartridge. If you prioritize consistent installation and toner-life expectations, the mixed customer reports are a reason to compare compatible and original replacement options before deciding.

When it makes sense

Choose this Aztech pack when your printer is listed, you need black toner, and having a second cartridge available is useful. The per-cartridge yield gives a practical estimate for planning, but coverage and print content affect actual use. If your model is not listed, or you need color printing, select a cartridge designed for that printer and purpose instead.
