Thermalright Frozen Notte 120 ARGB Black Liquid CPU Cooler, 120mm PWM Fan

Everyday use

The 120mm format gives this Thermalright liquid CPU cooler a compact footprint for a desktop cooling setup. Its PWM fan adjusts speed according to CPU temperature, helping match airflow to changing system demands. ARGB lighting on the fan and pump head can sync through a 5V 3-pin motherboard connection, bringing coordinated color to the build. The black finish keeps the look understated when the lighting is off.

For a gaming or everyday desktop, the PWM control and liquid-cooling design provide a practical alternative to choosing an air cooler. The fan uses an S-FDB magnetic stabilization bearing, designed to support balanced, steady operation. For installation, check that your motherboard socket is supported, AMD mounting uses the motherboard’s original backplate.

Technical details

• Type: Liquid CPU cooler
• Fan: 120mm PWM, up to 2000 RPM
• Airflow: 72.37 CFM
• Noise level: 27.7 dB
• Material: Aluminum
• Lighting: ARGB synchronization via 5V 3-pin motherboard connection
• Intel socket compatibility: LGA1150, LGA1151, LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA1200, LGA1700, LGA1851
• AMD socket compatibility: AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, AM4, AM5, FM1, FM2, FM2+

The pump head features an aluminum-alloy cover with mirror-finished acrylic and a copper base with a 0.1mm pitch. These details pair the cooler’s functional role with a reflective centerpiece for a windowed PC build. The fan’s PWM and ARGB functions are separate benefits: temperature-responsive speed control supports cooling, while lighting can be synchronized with compatible motherboard headers.

Where it shines

This cooler suits builders who want liquid cooling in a 120mm format while keeping lighting coordinated across the CPU area. In a gaming desktop, the temperature-responsive fan can adapt as CPU demand changes, and the synchronized ARGB makes the cooler feel integrated with the rest of a compatible lighting setup. The series connection for lighting effects can also help organize the lighting connection when motherboard headers are limited.

Compared with a traditional air-cooling approach, this is a way to choose an all-in-one liquid cooler with a pump-head lighting element and a radiator fan in one cooling setup. Buyers commonly praise its cooling performance, straightforward installation, and RGB appearance. Feedback on durability is mixed, so customer experiences vary, the reported impressions are not a guarantee of any particular result.

Should you buy it?

Choose the Frozen Notte 120 ARGB Black if your build calls for a 120mm liquid CPU cooler, PWM fan control, and synchronized ARGB in a black design. Its broad listed socket support makes it relevant to a range of Intel and AMD desktop builds, while the copper base and temperature-responsive fan give it a clear cooling-focused purpose. Confirm the socket and motherboard lighting connection for your system, then it can bring cooling and coordinated illumination together in one compact setup.
