Lenovo 15.6-inch FHD laptop

For classwork, everyday documents, browsing, and video calls, a laptop needs to cover the basics without making file storage an afterthought. This Lenovo pairs a 15.6-inch Full HD screen with an Intel N150 processor and 8GB of memory.

It also comes with a portable 500GB external hard drive, so there’s extra space for files beyond the laptop’s 128GB of UFS storage.

The setup is aimed at ordinary productivity and entertainment, not demanding creative or performance-heavy work.

Technical details

The 1920 x 1080 anti-glare display gives you room to work across documents or keep a class video open alongside notes. Its listed brightness is 250 nits, a detail worth considering if you plan to use it in bright surroundings. The Intel N150 is a 4-core processor with speeds up to 3.6GHz, paired with 8GB LPDDR5-4800 RAM. That combination is specified for web browsing, document editing, streaming, and everyday multitasking, it doesn’t establish that the laptop is suited to intensive workloads.

For storage, you get 128GB of UFS 2.2 space on the laptop plus a separate 500GB portable drive. The external drive is useful for backups or media, but it’s an extra device to carry and connect rather than built-in laptop capacity. The laptop weighs 3.42 lbs and has a 0.70-inch profile. It includes Windows 11 Home, Microsoft 365 Personal, and a Copilot hotkey. The listing doesn’t specify how long Microsoft 365 Personal is included for.

Getting the most from it

Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 cover wireless connections, while the ports include USB-C with Power Delivery, two USB-A ports, HDMI 1.4, and an SD card reader. A 720p camera has a physical privacy shutter, and the laptop also has user-facing stereo speakers. For a video call, you can close the shutter when the camera isn’t in use, for a presentation, HDMI provides a wired display connection.

A 65W fast charger is included, but there’s no battery runtime figure in the provided details. That makes it difficult to judge how long it will last away from an outlet. The MIL-STD-810H testing is listed as a durability measure, but it shouldn’t be read as a guarantee against damage.

Usage tips

Use the laptop’s internal storage for active files and applications, then keep larger backups or media on the included external drive. That arrangement makes better use of the modest 128GB built-in capacity, though it means the drive needs to be with you when you want those files. The anti-glare screen and included Microsoft 365 Personal also suit desk-based school or office tasks, while the lightweight design helps when moving between rooms or carrying it to class.

A solid pick if your routine centers on browsing, writing, streaming, and standard video calls, and you value having extra storage included. It might not be a great match if you need substantial built-in space, a stated all-day battery runtime, or hardware aimed at demanding workloads. Without having tried it, those are the main practical tradeoffs visible from the listed details.

Questions before you buy

Is the 500GB drive built into the laptop? No. It’s described as a portable external hard drive, separate from the laptop’s 128GB UFS storage.

Can it connect to an external monitor or TV? It has HDMI 1.4, so a wired display connection is available. The listing doesn’t give further monitor compatibility details.

Does it include Microsoft 365? Microsoft 365 Personal is listed as included, but the listing doesn’t state the inclusion period.

Final verdict

This Lenovo makes sense for everyday school, office, and home use if the listed processor and 8GB of RAM fit your workload. The external drive adds useful backup space, but it doesn’t replace having more built-in storage for files you need constantly. Choose it for straightforward tasks and a portable setup, look for a different configuration if you need a brighter screen, clearly stated battery endurance, or more room inside the laptop.
