SightPro SP-PSM13MP16 Magnetic Privacy Screen for 13.3-inch MacBook Pro

A removable privacy filter suits people who want to limit side views during travel or shared-workspace use. A permanently attached screen may be less convenient to remove, while this SightPro model attaches magnetically along the top edge. It is made for specific 13-inch MacBook Pro versions, so matching the laptop model matters. One important limit: it does not block visibility from someone directly behind you.

Quick sizing guide

This filter is listed for the 13.3-inch Retina display in MacBook Pro 13-inch models from 2016 through 2022, including M1 and M2 versions. The compatible model numbers provided are A1708, A1706, A1989, A2159, A2251, A2289, and A2338. Check the model number on your laptop before choosing it, screen size and year alone may not identify the right version.

The stated fit is specific to those MacBook Pro models, not MacBooks generally. That distinction is useful when shopping for a removable privacy screen: a filter for a different laptop can have the wrong dimensions or alignment even if its display size sounds similar. SightPro lists this screen at 12.75 by 12.31 inches, but the compatibility list is the more useful way to confirm whether it is intended for your computer.

What stands out

The filter uses a multilayer microlouver film designed to darken the display when viewed from the side while keeping the straight-on view clear. That makes it relevant for working with sensitive information in places such as an airport, airplane, or open office. The magnetic attachment is designed to snap onto the top of the screen, so the filter can be removed and reattached rather than left in place permanently. A webcam cover, storage folder, cleaning cloth, and reusable double-sided adhesive are also included.

Buyers commonly describe installation and removal as quick, and some say the filter provides effective privacy. Feedback is not uniform, though: reports differ on whether it stays in place, sits flush, and aligns fully with the screen. Opinions about the anti-glare finish are also mixed, with some finding it helpful and others reporting glare or reduced visibility. These are practical points to weigh if you expect to handle the filter often or need an especially consistent fit.

The product description also says the film helps protect against UV and blue light, but it does not provide measurements for those claims. The privacy effect has a clear boundary, too: it is intended to restrict side viewing, not sightlines from directly behind the user. A removable magnetic format makes more sense for someone who wants to take a filter off between work sessions than a fixed screen protector, while a user who needs privacy from every direction will need a different solution.

Should you buy it?

A solid pick if your MacBook Pro matches one of the listed model numbers and you want a filter you can attach for public or shared work and remove afterward. Its magnetic top attachment is the main convenience over a screen cover intended to remain installed. Buyers’ mixed comments on fit and staying in place make the purchase less certain if a flush, secure fit is essential to you. Not the best choice if you need to prevent someone directly behind you from seeing the display, since the stated privacy protection does not cover that angle.
