PUREPLUS RFC6600A Refrigerator Water Filter, 3-Pack, Coconut Carbon

For a refrigerator that takes a compatible Filter 3 cartridge, the PUREPLUS RFC6600A is a three-filter replacement set. It uses natural coconut activated carbon and lead-free materials. The listed dimensions are 2.5" in diameter, 2.5" wide, and 12.1" high. Check your refrigerator’s existing filter reference before choosing a replacement.

At a glance

This pack includes three filter cartridges and is listed as compatible with Everydrop Filter 3 and references including EDR3RXD1, 4396841, 4396710, 46-9083, 46-9030, 9030, and W10193691. The compatibility list also names other variations, so match the reference on your current cartridge or refrigerator documentation rather than relying on appearance alone.

The product information identifies natural coconut activated carbon and an NSF external testing certification, but does not specify the NSF standard. The manufacturer describes a 0.5-micron inner layer and claims 99.99% chlorine reduction, those are manufacturer-provided performance claims, not independent test results presented here.

Care tips

The manufacturer advises flushing a new cartridge for two minutes after installation and discarding the first two batches of ice. This helps clear harmless carbon fines that may be present after fitting. The stated replacement guidance is every six months or sooner, depending on water quality and frequency of use.

The manufacturer says shutting off the water is not required for replacement, but recommends turning off the valve to reduce pressure if the old cartridge is difficult to remove or the new one is difficult to install. Follow the refrigerator’s own instructions if they differ.

Everyday use

This set is intended for routine refrigerator water and ice filtration when the appliance uses one of the listed cartridge references. Its three-pack format provides replacement cartridges for later changes, while the carbon material is aimed at reducing chlorine-related taste and odor. The product details do not specify a filter-life capacity or a full list of substances reduced, so it is best to treat the stated claims as narrower than a complete water-quality assessment.

Buyer feedback commonly highlights fit, straightforward installation, and improved water taste. Reports about flow are mixed: some buyers describe normal operation, while others say the flow was problematic. These experiences are not a substitute for confirming model compatibility or following the flushing directions.

Practical questions

Does the RFC6600A fit every refrigerator? No universal fit is stated. It is listed for Filter 3 and specific replacement references such as EDR3RXD1 and 4396841, compare those with your current cartridge or appliance documentation.

Should the water valve be shut off during installation? The manufacturer says it is not necessary, but suggests shutting it off to relieve pressure if removal or installation is difficult.

How should a new cartridge be prepared? Flush it for two minutes, then discard the first two batches of ice, following the manufacturer’s guidance.

When it makes sense

It makes sense if your refrigerator uses a reference listed for the RFC6600A and you want a three-cartridge replacement set with coconut activated carbon. Compared with choosing a replacement solely by brand or appearance, matching the filter reference is the more reliable way to narrow the options. It may not suit you if your current cartridge or refrigerator model does not match the stated compatibility list. The mixed reports about water flow are also worth keeping in mind if consistent flow is a priority.
