PUREPLUS RWF6100A Refrigerator Water Filter, 2-Pack, Coconut Carbon, NSF/ANSI 42

A coconut activated carbon filter gives the PUREPLUS RWF6100A a practical role in refrigerator water filtration: it is designed to reduce chlorine and odor and improve taste. This replacement comes as a two-pack and is listed as compatible with Bosch BORPLFTR50 and several other filter references and refrigerator models.

Its NSF/ANSI 42 certification is identified as being from IAPMO. The filter is intended for replacement use, so the main buying check is whether your existing filter reference or refrigerator model appears in the compatibility list.

Everyday use

For a household that uses its refrigerator’s water dispenser, a replacement filter can help address chlorine taste and odor without changing the appliance. PUREPLUS describes this model as using natural coconut activated carbon and a multilayer design, with the stated aim of filtering at different levels while retaining beneficial minerals.

The pack contains two filters, which is useful if you prefer to have a replacement on hand. The product dimensions are 2.3"D x 2.3"W x 8.7"H, and its listed weight is 662 g. These details can help when comparing it with the filter being replaced, though model compatibility remains the more direct way to check fit.

Why it makes sense

This is an aftermarket replacement, not a Bosch-branded filter. Its appeal is the combination of a stated NSF/ANSI 42 certification, coconut activated carbon, and a compatibility list that includes BORPLFTR50, BORPLFTR55, 11025825, 12033030, and 12028325. PUREPLUS also names refrigerator models including B36CT80SNS and B36CL80ENS.

That makes it a potential alternative to buying a replacement identified by the original appliance brand, provided the reference matches. It’s a great fit if you want a two-filter pack for a listed refrigerator and your priority is chlorine and odor reduction. You may want to skip it if your filter reference or refrigerator model is not among the stated compatible options, the listing does not establish fit for unlisted models.

Key features

The filter is described as certified against NSF/ANSI 42 by IAPMO. PUREPLUS states that it filters out 99% of chlorine and odor and improves water taste. It also describes a 0.5-micron inner layer as effective against 99.99% of chlorine, while the multilayer construction is intended to handle filtration at different levels. These are product claims, not a guarantee of identical results in every home or water supply.

Natural coconut activated carbon is the listed filter material, and the product is described as lead-free. The stated benefit of retaining beneficial minerals may matter to shoppers who want filtration without removing those minerals. The information provided does not specify a replacement interval, so this listing alone cannot tell you when to change the filter.

Is it worth it?

The RWF6100A is worth considering when you need a compatible replacement for a refrigerator in its stated fit list and want the convenience of two filters in one pack. Certification and the stated focus on chlorine, odor, and taste give you concrete points to compare with a more basic replacement that does not list the same details.

The deciding factor is fit, not the broad compatibility wording alone: match your current filter reference or exact refrigerator model before choosing. If it matches, this PUREPLUS pack offers a clearly described carbon-based replacement, if it does not, the provided information gives no basis to assume it will fit.
