WF3CB Replacement Water Filter, 9-inch

Technical details

When you need a replacement for a listed refrigerator filter, this WF3CB-compatible cartridge is aimed at matching familiar filter references rather than offering a universal fit. The listing gives a 9-inch height and a pack of three, so it may suit households that want replacements on hand instead of buying one cartridge at a time.

It is listed as compatible with WF3CB, Pure Source 3, 706465, 242069601, 242086201, 242017800, PS3412266, and AP4567491. The seller also states that it is NSF/ANSI 42 certified. It describes activated carbon as the filtration material, but does not provide a specific list of contaminants reduced or a performance breakdown. That distinction matters if you are choosing a filter for a particular water-quality concern, the certification alone does not tell you everything you may want to know.

Requirements

Choose this cartridge only if your refrigerator uses one of the filter references listed above. Matching the part number is more useful than relying on appearance alone, especially because the listing notes that the center plastic piece differs from the OEM filter. The seller says the replacement inserts easily, but that design difference is still worth knowing before you order. If your refrigerator model or current filter reference is not listed, the available information does not establish compatibility.

A solid pick if you want a three-cartridge supply for a supported filter type and value having the stated replacement interval in the listing. Not the best choice if you need confirmed compatibility with an unlisted model or detailed contaminant-reduction data before choosing a filter.

Usage tips

Installation is described as tool-free and guided by the included instructions. For a practical first use, install the cartridge according to those directions, then run and discard around 4 gallons of water before drinking from it, as the listing advises. This initial flush is an important part of using the filter, so plan for it rather than filling a glass immediately after installation.

The stated service life is up to 6 months or 200 gallons. Treat that as the seller’s guidance, not a guarantee that every household will reach the same interval, actual use depends on how much water passes through the filter. Keeping the remaining cartridges available can make a later replacement simpler, but the listing does not specify how they should be stored.

Questions before you buy

Does it fit every Frigidaire refrigerator? No universal fit is established. The listing names specific compatible filter references, so compare those with the part number on your existing filter or refrigerator documentation.

Is installation complicated? The seller describes installation as requiring no special tools and says to follow the provided instructions. The center plastic piece differs from the OEM design, which is a relevant detail if you expect an exact visual match.

When should the filter be replaced? The stated guidance is up to 6 months or 200 gallons, with an initial flush of around 4 gallons before use. The listing does not give a more specific interval based on household water conditions.

Should you buy it?

This replacement makes the most sense when your current filter matches one of the listed references and you are comfortable with a compatible cartridge whose center piece is not identical to the OEM part. The three-pack and stated service interval are useful for planning routine replacements, while the initial flush adds a small setup step. If an exact OEM design match or detailed filtration claims are essential to your decision, the information provided here may not be enough, if your priority is a listed-part replacement with clear installation and flushing guidance, this is a reasonable candidate to consider.
