Lexar A30E 128GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive, 2-Pack, Up to 100MB/s

The 128GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 format gives each Lexar A30E drive room for photos, videos, documents, and other files. This two-pack keeps a second drive available for another device or a separate set of files.

Read speeds are rated up to 100MB/s, offering a convenient way to move files between compatible devices. Actual speeds can vary with the host device, interface, and usage conditions.

A retractable push-button design and lanyard loop make each drive easy to carry. The USB Type-A connection works with compatible laptops, Macs, tablets, and other Type-A devices, with no software installation required.

At a glance

Each drive has 128GB of storage and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface, with read speeds up to 100MB/s. Use the pair to keep work files separate from personal media, share files between compatible computers, or maintain a portable copy of important documents. The slim black design weighs 7.41 g, so it is practical to keep in a bag or on a keychain using the lanyard loop.

For moving files between devices, a flash drive offers a direct local option alongside cloud transfer or a larger external drive. The A30E is suited to everyday file storage and transfer when the devices have a compatible USB Type-A connection. Customer feedback often highlights ease of use, portability, and speed, while experiences with device recognition and long-term data reliability vary.

Everyday use

The push-button retractor helps extend and protect the connector when the drive is in use or being carried. Plug it into a compatible Type-A port to access the drive without installing software. Its two-drive format is handy when files need to travel between locations, such as carrying project documents to another computer or keeping photos and videos close at hand.

Lexar DataShield lets you create a password-protected safe with automatic encryption. Files deleted from that safe are described as securely erased and unrecoverable. The manufacturer notes that security safeguards can be circumvented, so use this feature as an added layer of protection rather than a guarantee against every form of unauthorized access.

Practical tips

Before transferring files, make sure the computer or other device has a compatible USB Type-A port. For a Mac, laptop, or tablet, check the port and device support so the drive can connect directly. The A30E is designed for storing and moving files, making it a useful choice for a portable working set or a backup copy that can be accessed away from your primary computer.

Customer comments also point to a practical detail: some find the sliding mechanism stiff to operate, and reports about recognition and data reliability are mixed. The manufacturer likewise notes that actual transfer speed depends on the host device and interface. Keep another copy of important files when they matter, a portable drive is most useful as part of a considered storage routine, not as the only home for valuable data.

Buying verdict

Choose the Lexar A30E two-pack for portable USB Type-A storage with 128GB per drive, read speeds up to 100MB/s, and a retractable design with a lanyard loop. It suits people who regularly move files between compatible computers or want two separate drives for different projects. DataShield adds a password-protected, encrypted safe for files that need an extra layer of privacy, while the compact format keeps everyday transfers simple.
