Lenovo ThinkPad business laptop, 16-inch

For office teams, analysts, and mobile professionals who keep several work tasks open at once, the Lenovo ThinkPad E16 Gen 3 pairs an Intel Core Ultra 5 225H with 16GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB NVMe SSD. Its 16-inch anti-glare IPS display gives spreadsheets and documents room to breathe, while the numeric keypad and backlit keyboard are useful for late work sessions or dim meeting rooms. The listed configuration also includes Windows 11 Pro, a fingerprint reader, and Wi-Fi 6E. Without having tried it, the specs suggest a work-focused setup rather than a laptop built around gaming or demanding graphics.

Quick overview

The Core Ultra 5 225H has 14 cores, and the integrated Intel Arc 130T graphics are described for presentations, video calls, and light CAD work. That makes this configuration relevant to office workloads and multitasking, though it is not a discrete-graphics system. The 16GB of memory and 1TB SSD give you room for common business software, files, and multiple open applications, buyers planning to run particularly demanding workloads should weigh those needs against the listed configuration rather than assume it will handle everything equally well.

For everyday use, the display is WUXGA (1920x1200), IPS, anti-glare, and rated at 300 nits. The fingerprint reader is integrated into the power button, and the laptop also lists a TPM 2.0 chip and a camera privacy shutter. Thunderbolt 4, USB-C with power delivery, HDMI 2.1, and Ethernet offer several ways to connect a display or network. A solid pick if you want a large-screen business laptop with built-in security and a conventional keyboard layout.

Fit and sizing

The 16-inch screen is the main practical trade-off: it gives documents and spreadsheets more working space, but the product details don’t provide the laptop’s physical dimensions or weight. If you carry your computer frequently, those missing details matter for judging bag fit and portability. Keep in mind that a 300-nit display may be less comfortable in direct sunlight than a brighter screen, so its listed anti-glare finish shouldn’t be taken as a guarantee of easy outdoor viewing.

Tips for day-to-day use

For a typical workday, the numeric keypad can make entering figures in a spreadsheet less fiddly, while the backlight helps when the room lighting is low. The 1TB SSD gives you local space for work files, and the listed ports offer alternatives to relying on wireless connections when docking or connecting external equipment. Wi-Fi 6E is included, but the product details don’t establish what network performance you’ll get, that depends on the network you use.

Before you decide

Does it have a number pad? Yes. The description lists a backlit keyboard with a numeric keypad.

What display resolution is listed? WUXGA, 1920x1200, on a 16-inch IPS anti-glare screen.

Which operating system does it include? Windows 11 Pro.

When it makes sense

Choose this configuration if your priority is a business-focused laptop with a roomy screen, useful wired connections, and features such as a fingerprint reader and privacy shutter. It might not be a great match if your work depends on stronger graphics performance, or if you need confirmed physical dimensions and weight before choosing a travel laptop. Compared with a smaller, simpler everyday computer, the E16 puts more emphasis on workspace and business connectivity, that’s worthwhile when those features matter more than compact size.
