Lenovo 2-in-1 laptop 16-inch

If you want a laptop that can also handle touch input and tablet-style use, the Yoga 7i 16-inch takes a more flexible approach than a standard clamshell. That flexibility matters most when your work shifts between typing, presenting, and marking up content.

Its 360-degree hinge lets you switch between laptop, tent, stand, and tablet modes. The 16-inch touchscreen has a 1920 x 1200 WUXGA resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate.

For school or business, the combination of Windows 11 Pro, 16GB of memory, and an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V is aimed at everyday productivity, with Copilot+ PC features also part of the package.

Key points

The main reason to consider this Lenovo is its convertible design. You can type at a desk, fold it into stand mode for a hands-free presentation, or use the touchscreen to annotate a document. That is more adaptable than a conventional laptop, though the larger 16-inch format is less focused on compact portability.

The processor includes an NPU rated for up to 40 TOPS, and the listing identifies the laptop as a Copilot+ PC. It also lists 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and Windows 11 Pro. For everyday multitasking, those details make this a work-and-study-oriented setup rather than a basic browsing machine.

Connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 1.4, USB-A 3.2, a microSD card reader, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth. Keep in mind that the display is listed at 300 nits and 60Hz, so shoppers prioritizing a brighter screen or a faster refresh rate should weigh those figures before choosing it.

How to use it

Use it as a standard laptop for writing, browsing, and managing work, then fold the screen back when touch input or a different viewing angle is more useful. For example, you could set it in stand mode on a desk during a presentation, then switch back to laptop mode to take notes. The touchscreen and hinge support that change in setup, the listing does not specify a stylus, so don’t assume one is included.

The advertised battery life is up to 15 hours, but actual runtime depends on how you use the laptop. Treat that figure as a stated maximum, not a guarantee for every workday.

Practical tips

Before buying, think about how often you will use the convertible modes. If the touchscreen and flexible hinge would see regular use, they add a practical reason to choose this over a standard laptop. If you mostly type at one desk, a simpler clamshell may suit your needs just as well.

The laptop is listed with an aluminum chassis and a weight of 3.96 pounds. That gives you a useful size and weight reference, but the 16-inch screen still makes it worth considering how you plan to carry it. For color-critical creative work, the listing provides no color-gamut figure, don’t assume suitability without that measurement.

Questions before you buy

Can it connect to external displays? The listed connections include two Thunderbolt 4 ports and an HDMI 1.4 output. The product description says Thunderbolt 4 supports dual 4K monitors.

Does it include privacy and login features? It has a 1080p front-facing webcam with a physical privacy shutter and an integrated fingerprint reader.

Is it intended for work or school? The listing positions it for business and student use and specifies Windows 11 Pro, 16GB of memory, and a touchscreen convertible design.

When it makes sense

A solid pick if you want a large touchscreen laptop that can shift between typing, presenting, and tablet-style interaction, and the listed ports fit your setup. You may want to skip it if you need a smaller carry-around device, a higher-refresh display, or a screen with documented color coverage. Its strongest case is the hinge-and-touch flexibility, if you won’t use those features, a traditional laptop may be the more straightforward choice.
