HP 2-in-1 laptop, 16-inch

A standard laptop can feel awkward when you want to read, present, or tap through a task without a keyboard in the way. The HP OmniBook X Flip addresses that with a touchscreen and a hinge that rotates 360 degrees.

Its 16-inch OLED display gives you more room for documents and video than a compact screen. The tradeoff is that this size is less focused on easy portability.

You can use it as a laptop, tablet, tent, or reverse-mode device, so the format adapts to different tasks instead of locking you into one setup.

Getting the most from it

For everyday work, the Ryzen AI 5 430 processor, 16GB of LPDDR5X memory, and 512GB SSD are a practical combination for documents, multitasking, video calls, streaming, and everyday creative work. The listing also identifies it as a Copilot+ PC and specifies integrated AMD Radeon 840M graphics. Those details point to a productivity-first machine, not a dedicated gaming laptop or a system described for demanding professional graphics work.

The convertible hinge is useful when your posture or task changes. For example, you could keep it in laptop mode to write a presentation, then prop it in tent mode on a counter to follow a video while cooking. The touchscreen also gives you a direct way to navigate when reaching for the trackpad feels inconvenient. A backlit keyboard helps when you are working in dimmer rooms.

Why it’s worth it

This configuration combines a 1920 x 1200 OLED touchscreen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, giving you vertical space for reading and working while retaining the flexible 2-in-1 design. Windows 11 Pro is included, and the listed connections cover a broad range of common setups: dual Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, two USB-A ports rated at 10Gbps, HDMI 2.1, and a headphone/microphone combo jack. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 are also listed.

If you prioritize a larger touch display and multiple ways to position the computer, this setup has a clear purpose. If you prefer a smaller, simpler laptop that is easier to carry, a compact conventional design may fit better. The listing doesn’t give battery life or weight, so judging all-day mobility is difficult without that measurement.

At a glance

• Modes: Laptop, tablet, tent, and reverse
• Software and connectivity: Windows 11 Pro, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0

The spec list is useful for matching it to work and study routines, but it doesn’t establish how long it lasts away from an outlet or how heavy it feels in a bag. You’ll appreciate it if you want a spacious screen that can also work as a touch-first device. It’s not for you if compact size or confirmed battery endurance is your main deciding factor.

When it makes sense

Choose this HP when you expect to switch between typing, touch navigation, and viewing content in different positions, and when a 16-inch display suits your workspace. The port selection may also help if your routine includes connecting peripherals or an external display. For a basic laptop used mainly for typing, the convertible hinge and touchscreen may be features you rarely use, for more intensive graphics work, the available details don’t establish that this configuration is designed to meet those demands.
