LC501XL Compatible Ink Cartridges, 5-Pack

What matters most

Running low on ink can interrupt everyday printing, especially when you need both black text and color. This LC501XL cartridge set includes two black cartridges plus one each in cyan, magenta, and yellow, giving you replacements for all four listed ink colors in one purchase.

It’s described as compatible with the Brother MFC-J1260W, MFC-J1260DW, MFC-J1360DW, and MFC-J1410DW. The set is non-OEM, so it’s a compatible alternative rather than a Brother-branded replacement. The listed yield is up to 500 pages per cartridge at 5% coverage on A4 paper, actual page counts can vary with how much ink each page uses. Keep in mind that this yield figure is tied to light coverage, so pages with large color areas may use ink differently.

How to use it

Check your printer’s full model number against the compatibility list before choosing a cartridge. The model names are easy to mix up: this set names both the MFC-J1260W and MFC-J1260DW, along with the MFC-J1360DW and MFC-J1410DW. Matching the exact printer matters more than relying on a similar-looking model name.

The package includes two LC501XL black cartridges and one each of cyan, magenta, and yellow, as well as a user guide. That color mix is useful if your printing ranges from documents to charts or other color pages, while the extra black cartridge gives you a spare for text-heavy use. The listing doesn’t provide installation details beyond including the guide, so follow the instructions supplied with the cartridges and your printer.

Practical tips

Before ordering, compare the cartridge designation shown for your printer with LC501 or LC501XL in the product information. Also consider what you print most: if black documents are a regular job, having two black cartridges may be more relevant than a bundle with an even split across colors. For a mix of school forms, a color chart, and occasional everyday pages, the set covers black and the three listed colors without needing to assemble cartridges separately.

This is a non-OEM set, while another buying approach is to choose OEM replacements. The listing gives a page-yield estimate but no comparative test results, so it doesn’t establish how the cartridges perform against OEM options. It suits you if you want a compatible five-cartridge set for one of the specifically listed printers. Not the best choice if you need cartridges for a model that isn’t named here or specifically want OEM supplies.

Questions before you buy

How many cartridges are included? Five: two black and one each of cyan, magenta, and yellow. A user guide is also listed in the package contents.

Which printers are listed as compatible? The MFC-J1260W, MFC-J1260DW, MFC-J1360DW, and MFC-J1410DW. Check the exact model name on your printer before selecting the set.

What does the 500-page yield mean? The listing states up to 500 pages for each black and color cartridge, based on 5% coverage on A4 paper. It’s an estimate tied to that stated coverage, not a guaranteed count for every print job.

When it makes sense

Choose this set when your printer is one of the listed models and you want black plus all three color cartridges together, with an additional black cartridge on hand. The stated yield and color mix help frame the purchase, but they don’t show how long the set will last for your particular documents. If your printer model is different, or your choice depends on OEM status or performance comparisons that aren’t provided, look for information specific to those needs before deciding.
