61XL Black Ink Cartridge

The 61XL format is designed to hold more black ink than a standard 61 cartridge, with each cartridge rated for up to about 650 pages. That makes this two-pack a practical fit for regular document printing, where replacing cartridges less often matters.

From the way it is set up, this is a replacement for printers that use HP 61 or 61XL ink—not a universal cartridge. The included chip is intended to help with printer recognition, but the exact printer model still matters.

If you prioritize a larger ink supply for routine printing, this pack suits that approach, if you prefer to choose ink by printer brand and model with no compatibility uncertainty, verify the model number before ordering.

Getting the most from it

Use the printer’s model number to confirm it appears in the compatibility list before choosing this cartridge. The listing includes models in the Envy 4500 and 5530 series, OfficeJet 4630 and 2620 series, and Deskjet families such as the 1000, 2000, 2500, 3000, and 3500 series. Those family names cover many individual models, so a similar-looking printer name is not enough to confirm a match.

For a typical home-printing routine, the two cartridges can be useful to have on hand: install one for everyday forms, school documents, or black-and-white drafts, and keep the other as a replacement. The stated yield is up to approximately 650 pages per cartridge, so treat it as an estimate rather than a promise for every printing pattern. The listing does not specify how page coverage affects the result.

Why it’s worth it

The main appeal is straightforward: two black cartridges in an XL format, with a stated capacity above the standard 61 cartridge. If your printer is on the supported list and you mostly print text, the larger stated yield may mean fewer interruptions than choosing a lower-capacity option. The upgraded chip is also intended to support recognition and consistent printing, though the supplied details do not establish how every individual printer will respond.

You’ll appreciate it if you already know your printer uses HP 61 or HP 61XL and want a spare ready for regular black-ink jobs. Better avoided if you cannot confirm the exact model, or if you need color ink as well, this pack contains black cartridges only.

Key features

• Two 61XL black ink cartridges and a user guide are included.
• Each cartridge is rated for up to approximately 650 pages.
• The product is listed as compatible with selected Envy, OfficeJet, and Deskjet models that use HP 61 or 61XL cartridges.
• An upgraded chip is intended to help the printer recognize the cartridge.

This is a model-specific replacement, so the compatibility list is more important than the broad printer-family labels. It is a different buying approach from choosing a cartridge solely by appearance or by a general printer series: match the full model name first, then consider the XL capacity.

Buying verdict

This 61XL two-pack is worth considering when your exact printer is listed, you need black ink for everyday printing, and the stated yield fits your expectations. Its clearest practical benefit is having a second cartridge ready while using an XL-format option. Skip it if your model is absent from the compatibility information or you need color ink, the listing does not provide a guarantee that covers unlisted printers.
