Uni-Ball Zento 70665 Retractable Gel Pens, Black Ink, 0.7mm, 12 Count

A pen set for everyday notes has different priorities than one for precise, fine-line work. The Uni-Ball Zento pairs black liquid gel ink with a 0.7mm medium point, a retractable design, and a soft grip, making it suited to general writing, journaling, and school or office use.

The pack includes 12 pens with Zen-style barrel colors. If you want one pen style for recurring notes and lists, the matching point size and ink color across the set keep the choice straightforward, the product details do not specify a range of point sizes or ink colors.

Usage tips

Use the retractable mechanism to extend the point when writing and retract it for storage. The 0.7mm medium point is intended for everyday writing rather than especially fine marks, while the dark black ink gives notes and planner entries clear contrast. The pens are also listed for sketching, marking, calligraphy, and carpentry, though the available details do not describe performance for specialized techniques or materials.

The water-based liquid gel ink is described as quick-drying and water-resistant. Those qualities may help when moving across a page or handling written notes, but the product information does not give a drying time or define how much water exposure the ink withstands. For important documents, test the pen on the paper you plan to use.

Where it shines

These pens are most at home in regular writing routines: taking class notes, keeping a journal, filling out a planner, or leaving clear work notes. The spring-loaded clip gives each retractable pen a way to attach to a pocket or notebook, and the ribbed soft grip is designed to support comfort and control during writing.

What stands out in buyer feedback: people commonly praise the smooth writing feel, dark ink, and comfortable grip. Some also like the ink flow and the barrel colors. Those comments reflect individual impressions, not a guarantee that every paper or writing style will feel the same. What matters most for your choice: do you want a medium point that feels smooth for everyday pages, or a finer point for compact handwriting?

What matters most

The set combines a 0.7mm tip with black liquid gel ink, rather than offering multiple tip sizes or colors. Its soft grip is made with 75% recycled material, according to the product details. The pens are round-bodied and retractable, with a wide spring-loaded clip, the set contains 12 pens.

You’ll appreciate it if you want a consistent black gel pen for regular writing and value a soft grip. Better avoided if your notes require a finer point or a color other than black, since neither option is listed for this set. The water-resistant ink may be useful for everyday handling, but it should not be treated as waterproof based on the information provided.

What to clarify

Does the set include more than one ink color? No. The listed ink color is black, the Zen colors refer to the pen barrels.

What point size do the pens use? Each pen has a 0.7mm medium point.

Are the pens disposable or refillable? The listing describes them as retractable, but does not state whether they can be refilled.

Final verdict

The Uni-Ball Zento 70665 is a focused choice for everyday writing: 12 retractable pens, black liquid gel ink, a 0.7mm medium point, and a soft grip. Its appeal is strongest if you want a matching set for notes, journals, or planners rather than a range of colors or tip sizes. The listed water resistance and quick-drying design are useful considerations, but the product details do not specify drying time or refill availability.
