E-Z Ink toner cartridge TN850

Best use cases

For homes, small offices, and workgroups that print mostly black-and-white documents, the E-Z Ink TN850 bundle offers four replacement toner cartridges for compatible Brother laser printers. It’s aimed at people who want several replacements on hand rather than buying one cartridge at a time, especially when routine printing includes reports, forms, or other text-heavy pages.

The listed yield is 8,000 pages per cartridge at 5% coverage, so actual results depend on what you print. A page with dense text or large dark areas may use toner faster than that benchmark suggests.

Product specs

The package contains four black TN850 high-yield cartridges and a user guide. The cartridges are described as compatible with Brother TN-850 and TN-820 toner models. Listed printer families include the HL-L5000D, HL-L5100DN, HL-L5200DW, HL-L6200DW, HL-L6300DW, and HL-L6400DW, along with DCP-L5500DN, DCP-L5600DN, DCP-L5650DN, MFC-L5700DW, MFC-L5850DW, MFC-L5900DW, and MFC-L6900DW. These are examples from a longer compatibility list, not a guarantee for every Brother printer.

E-Z Ink describes the cartridges as using an upgraded chip and says they are intended to produce clear text. Those are product claims rather than a stated print-quality measurement. Before ordering, match your printer’s exact model and the toner number it uses, a similar model name alone is not enough to establish compatibility.

Where it shines

The practical advantage is having several cartridges ready for a printer that gets regular document use. For example, an office can replace an empty cartridge during a busy week and keep the remaining units in reserve, rather than pausing to source another replacement immediately. You’ll appreciate it if you want a multi-cartridge supply and your printer appears on the compatibility list.

What matters more to you: the number of pages printed, or how much toner a particular job consumes? The quoted yield uses 5% page coverage, so it is best treated as a reference point, not a promise for every document. From the way it is set up, this bundle prioritizes a stock of compatible replacements, someone who prints only occasionally may prefer to buy a single cartridge instead of storing spares.

Is it worth it?

This set makes sense when you have a listed Brother laser printer, print black-and-white documents often, and can use four cartridges over time. The stated 8,000-page yield per cartridge gives a useful planning figure, but it won’t tell you exactly how long a cartridge will last for graphics-heavy pages or dense layouts. That distinction matters if you’re comparing toner by expected output rather than by the number of cartridges in the box.

Better avoided if you cannot confirm your exact printer model, need color toner, or don’t expect to use multiple replacements. In those cases, a single cartridge or a toner specifically confirmed for your printer is the more straightforward choice. If the model and TN-850/TN-820 requirement match, this bundle is a practical way to keep black toner available, if either detail is uncertain, compatibility should decide the purchase before the four-pack does.
