E-Z Ink 251XL Ink Cartridges

Highlights

Home or small-office users who need to replenish color ink without buying a full set may find this 12-pack worth a closer look. It contains four cyan, four magenta, and four yellow replacement cartridges for printers that use Canon CLI-251XL ink.

That color-only mix is the main buying detail: gray and black cartridges are not included. It makes sense if your printer needs these three colors, You may want to skip it if you’re looking for a complete ink set.

The listed compatible printers include the Canon PIXMA MX922, MX920, MX722, IP7220, IP8720, iX6820, and several MG-series models. Check the exact model against the product’s compatibility list before ordering, especially if your printer is from a series with multiple versions. The maker states a yield of 350 pages per color cartridge at 5% coverage. Actual page counts can vary with how much ink your documents or images use, so treat that figure as a reference rather than a promise for every print job.

How to use it

Match the cartridge designation and your printer model before opening the package. When a color runs low, replace the corresponding cartridge according to your printer’s normal instructions, this set lets you replenish cyan, magenta, or yellow without adding gray or black ink you may not need. For example, if a run of flyers or school projects has used up yellow and magenta while cyan is still available, the separate colors can help you replace the depleted shades rather than buying a mixed assortment with a different balance.

Keep in mind that this pack does not include gray or black, so it won’t by itself cover every cartridge position in a printer that uses those colors. Also, the stated 5% page-coverage basis is a standardized reference, not a guarantee for color-heavy pages or photos. The listing describes the ink as compatible replacement cartridges, it does not provide further details here about installation features or printer-specific performance.

Practical tips

Before choosing a multipack, think about which colors your printer actually reports as low and how often you print in color. This set is aimed at replenishing the three listed color channels in one go. A buyer who wants one convenient color reserve may prefer that approach, someone who needs a full printer refresh should look for a set that also includes the required gray and black cartridges.

The supported models named in the listing span MX, iP, iX, and MG PIXMA lines, but not every Canon printer is covered. Use the model number printed on the printer rather than relying on a similar-looking series name. The maker describes the ink as delivering crisp text and graphics, according to the maker, each color cartridge is rated for 350 pages at 5% coverage. That claim doesn’t establish how results will look with every document, paper type, or printer.

Final verdict

This E-Z Ink set is best suited to a Canon PIXMA owner whose printer uses CLI-251XL cartridges and who mainly needs cyan, magenta, and yellow replacements. Its 12-cartridge count gives you several of each color, but it is not a complete replacement set for printers that also need gray or black. Buy it when the model and color mix match your needs, choose a fuller assortment if you’re trying to restock every cartridge position at once.
