HP OMEN 45L Gaming Desktop

Highlights

A gaming PC that struggles to keep games, chat, and other apps moving at once can turn a relaxing session into a string of compromises. The HP OMEN 45L pairs an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X with 32GB of RAM and an RTX 3060 Ti, giving you a desktop built for gaming alongside streaming, editing, and everyday multitasking.

Its 1TB PCIe SSD provides the listed storage, while Windows 11 Home comes installed. The CPU uses a 240mm liquid-cooling system, and three front ARGB fans handle airflow. Tempered glass and customizable lighting add a showpiece look, though that style may not suit a low-key workspace.

Keep in mind that the graphics card has 8GB of dedicated memory, buyers targeting more demanding graphics workloads should compare its capabilities with higher-tier configurations rather than assuming every game will run at the same settings. The 800W 80 Plus Gold power supply is a notable part of the setup, but the provided details don’t specify upgrade compatibility for individual components.

How to use it

Set it up as a central gaming and work desktop: connect a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, then use the front ports for accessories you plug in often. For example, you could leave a headset connected at the front, run a game while keeping a voice chat or browser open, and use the rear USB-C and USB-A ports for devices that can stay at your desk. HDMI and three DisplayPort outputs give you options for a multi-monitor setup.

For network access, the listing includes a USB Wi-Fi adapter, Gigabit Ethernet is also available if you prefer a wired connection. DTS:X Ultra 5.1 audio is listed, with OMEN Audio Control for audio settings. It makes sense if you want one desktop for gaming and general content creation without starting with a bare-bones configuration.

Practical tips

Think about where the tower will sit before choosing it. The glass panels and RGB lighting are meant to be visible, so a tucked-away spot may waste part of the design appeal. Keep the front accessible if you regularly connect headphones or USB accessories, and use the rear connections for equipment that stays plugged in.

The system is a more complete starting point than building around a basic office desktop, especially with 32GB of RAM, liquid CPU cooling, and a dedicated graphics card already specified. At the same time, the product details don’t give dimensions or a full upgrade guide, so don’t assume it will fit a particular desk space or accept a specific future component without checking those requirements. It might not be a great match if your priority is a minimal, quiet-looking setup or a system selected for a particular upgrade path.

Before you decide

Can it connect to multiple monitors? The listed graphics outputs include HDMI and three DisplayPort connections, supporting a multi-monitor setup.

Does it have Wi-Fi? A USB Wi-Fi adapter is included in the product description. Gigabit Ethernet is available for a wired network connection.

Is it intended for creative work as well as gaming? The listed Ryzen 7 processor, 32GB of RAM, and RTX 3060 Ti are positioned for gaming, streaming, video editing, and GPU-accelerated creative workflows. The exact results will depend on the software and workload.

When it makes sense

This HP OMEN 45L is worth considering if you want a ready-configured Windows desktop with a Ryzen 7 processor, 32GB of memory, liquid CPU cooling, and an RTX 3060 Ti for gaming plus mixed-use tasks. The maker describes the graphics setup for 1440p gaming, but demanding settings and workloads vary by title. Choose a simpler desktop if gaming is secondary, look at a higher graphics tier if your main goal is more demanding performance than this listed 8GB card is intended to provide.
