GMKtec Mini PC with Ryzen 7 7730U
Product description
If you want a small desktop for everyday office work, a mini PC can free up desk space without moving to a laptop. The GMKtec M5 Ultra takes that compact approach while offering room to expand its memory and storage.
Its Ryzen 7 7730U and 16GB of RAM are aimed at multitasking, productivity, and lighter creative work. The built-in Radeon graphics also make casual gaming possible, though this is not a dedicated gaming system.
A useful detail is its pair of 2.5G Ethernet ports, alongside Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. That gives it more network flexibility than a basic single-LAN office PC.
How to use it
This mini PC is suited to a home-office setup, a small business workstation, or a desk where you want to connect several screens without placing a full-size tower underneath. For example, you could keep email and a video call on separate displays while using the main screen for a spreadsheet. The product supports three simultaneous displays, the listed ports include HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort, and USB-C with DP support.
You’ll appreciate it if you want a compact computer that can handle routine productivity and has upgrade paths as needs change. The installed memory is 16GB DDR4 in dual-channel configuration, and it can be expanded up to 64GB. Storage starts with a 512GB PCIe 3.0 M.2 SSD, with two SSD slots available for expansion, drives for upgrades are not included.
Would a small desktop like this replace a more demanding workstation? Not necessarily. Radeon integrated graphics are a different fit from a computer with a dedicated graphics card, so demanding games or graphics-heavy workloads call for a more specialized system. It’s not for you if that kind of graphics performance is your priority.
Pros
The Ryzen 7 7730U has 8 cores and 16 threads, with a listed base speed of 2.00GHz and turbo up to 4.50GHz through BIOS settings. That gives the M5 Ultra a useful range for office apps and having several tasks open at once. Its stated 15W TDP also reflects a low-power desktop focus rather than a high-wattage tower approach.
The dual 2.5G LAN ports stand out for wired networking, while Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 cover wireless connections. For a small office, lab, or home network, having two Ethernet ports may matter more than extra graphics features. The trade-off is that the product details don’t specify the physical dimensions, so you can’t confirm the exact footprint from this information alone.

The stated expansion ceiling is up to 8TB per SSD slot, but those additional drives are not part of the included configuration. On the spec sheet, the display details support three screens, with HDMI specified for 4K at 60Hz, don’t treat the product name’s 8K wording as confirmation of a particular 8K multi-screen setup.
Buying verdict
The M5 Ultra makes the most sense if you need a compact Windows-style desktop for office tasks, several connected displays, or a network setup that benefits from two wired ports. Its upgradeable RAM and dual SSD slots offer more room to adapt than a fixed, entry-level mini computer. Choose a larger desktop or a system with dedicated graphics if gaming performance or intensive visual work matters more than desk space. Before deciding, match its included 16GB of memory and 512GB SSD to what you need today, rather than assuming upgrades are included.
