Filter King FKFB22X22-6 MERV 8 Air Filter, 22 x 22 x 1, 6-Pack

When replacing a home HVAC filter, the right choice depends on the system’s filter slot and the level of particle capture you need. The Filter King FKFB22X22-6 is a MERV 8 pleated filter for residential air conditioners and furnaces, with a listed size of 22 x 22 x 1 inches and an actual size of 21.5 x 21.5 x .75 inches. Its polypropylene construction and six-filter pack make it a practical format for planned replacements.

If you prefer to stock replacements rather than buy one at a time, this pack keeps multiple filters on hand for routine upkeep.

Key features

MERV 8 filtration and a pleated design are intended to capture airborne particles such as dust and dander while allowing air to flow through the filter. That makes this filter useful for regular residential HVAC maintenance, where filtering circulating air is part of keeping an air conditioner or furnace in service. The product is described for dust and allergy control, the rating and pleated format give you concrete criteria to compare when choosing a replacement.

The nominal size is 22 x 22 x 1 inches, while the actual dimensions are 21.5 x 21.5 x .75 inches. Use the actual measurements when comparing the filter with your existing one or the opening in your system. This is a slide-in, square filter, so it is designed to fit into a matching filter slot. Buyers report differing experiences with fit, including some comments about edge gaps, making the listed actual size a useful detail to check against your setup.

Practical tips

Before installing a replacement, compare its actual dimensions with the filter currently in your system and confirm that the nominal size corresponds to the slot. The filter installs by sliding into place, making it suited to straightforward replacement as part of normal home HVAC care. Follow the replacement schedule recommended for your equipment and check the filter regularly so you can replace it as needed.

Tips for day-to-day use

Keep the remaining filters accessible with your household maintenance supplies so a replacement is ready when needed. A six-pack is especially convenient for homeowners who prefer to plan recurring filter changes in advance. Customer feedback is generally positive about dust and dander capture and day-to-day functionality, while opinions about fit are mixed. Matching the actual dimensions to your system helps make the selection more specific to your installation.
