Simply SF18x18x1 (17.75 x 17.75)M08-6PK MERV 8 Air Filter, 6-Pack

If you need a replacement filter for an 18 x 18 x 1 slot in a home AC, furnace, or heat pump, this six-pack gives you MERV 8 filtration in a pleated design. The listed actual size is 17.75 x 17.75 x 0.75 inches, rather than the nominal 18 x 18 x 1 inches. That difference matters when matching a filter to a tight slot. The pack is intended for residential HVAC systems.

Key points

Each filter has a MERV 8 rating and pleated synthetic media, with cardboard and paper components. The manufacturer describes it as capturing common airborne particles such as dust, pollen, and pet dander, the product information also lists mold reduction as an application. These are filtration claims, not a guarantee of a particular change in indoor air quality. The frame uses 24-point beverage board and hot-rolled steel wire mesh. Six filters are included, making this a replacement supply rather than a single-filter purchase.

Customer feedback is generally positive about filtering dust and allergens and about the filters working as intended. Some customers also say airflow is not noticeably obstructed. Fit feedback is mixed, however, so the stated dimensions are more useful for deciding compatibility than relying on the nominal size alone.

Size & fit

The listed dimensions are 17.75 inches long, 17.75 inches wide, and 0.75 inches thick. Check those measurements against the filter you are replacing and the available opening in your unit, an 18 x 18 x 1 label does not mean the filter itself measures exactly that. The filter is designed to slide into a slot, and installation guidance says to follow the airflow arrows. Customer comments include both reports of a good fit and reports that the dimensions did not work for their setup, so a precise match is especially relevant here.

Everyday use

This is a straightforward option for routine replacement in a compatible residential AC, furnace, or heat pump. The manufacturer suggests filtration for up to three months, but the product information does not establish one interval for every home or system. A household replacing filters regularly may find a six-pack practical to keep on hand. Compared with buying a single filter when replacement is due, this pack provides several replacements together, shoppers who need a different actual size or a different filtration rating should look for those specifications instead. You’ll appreciate it if your system calls for this size and MERV 8 filtration. It may not suit you if your slot requires different dimensions or another rating.

Before you decide

What does MERV 8 mean for this purchase? It identifies the filter’s stated rating, the product is marketed for capturing particles such as dust, pollen, and pet dander.

What size should I match? Use the actual dimensions, 17.75 x 17.75 x 0.75 inches, and compare them with your current filter and slot.

How often should it be replaced? The manufacturer states up to three months. The appropriate timing can depend on the system and household conditions, which are not specified here.

Should you buy it?

Choose this Simply six-pack if your residential system takes the listed actual dimensions and you want a MERV 8 pleated filter for routine dust and allergen filtration. Its main buying consideration is fit: the nominal 18 x 18 x 1 size is not its actual measurement, and customer experiences with sizing vary. If those dimensions match your existing filter, the pack offers multiple replacements in one purchase, if they do not, another size is the more sensible choice.
