Apollo Walker 81030 Cat Backpack Carrier with Steel Frame and Breathable Mesh

For a hike, a walk around town, or a trip with your cat, the Apollo Walker 81030 turns a pet carrier into a hands-free backpack. Its steel support frame and honeycomb base help keep the interior supported, while breathable mesh panels give your pet airflow and a view of the surroundings.

Padded shoulder straps and adjustable sternum and waist buckles help make the carrier comfortable to wear. When the outing is over, it folds flat for storage, and a side pocket keeps treats, water, or other small essentials close at hand.

What you’ll notice day to day

The structured design gives your pet a stable place to sit while you walk, travel, or explore outdoors. A reinforced steel-wire frame helps the backpack hold its shape, and the three-layer honeycomb base with a thickened foam base supports the floor of the carrier. The included baseboard adds to the structured setup, while the detachable, washable pad makes it easier to freshen the resting surface between trips.

Mesh on multiple sides supports airflow and visibility. An interior leash tether attaches to your pet’s collar, helping keep them connected when you open the carrier in a public place. The buckles and zippers provide the closures, and the padded straps, plus adjustable chest and waist buckles, help distribute the load across your upper body. Buyers often appreciate the roomy interior, supportive base, mesh ventilation, and fold-flat storage. Feedback on carrying weight is mixed: some find it manageable, while others say the carrier feels heavy.

Key points

The carrier measures 16.8 × 12.6 × 11.4 inches, with maximum pet dimensions of 16.1 × 12.2 × 10.2 inches. Measuring your pet before choosing a carrier helps you compare their size with the available interior space. The product details list a maximum weight recommendation of 15 pounds, the fit guide also gives separate pet weight guidance for cats and dogs, so use the stated dimensions as part of your fit check.

For a scenario such as walking from the car to a trail or taking your pet on a day trip, the backpack format keeps your hands free while the frame and base provide structure. Compared with a hand-carried soft carrier, this option is designed to be worn on your back and folds flat after use. A side pocket keeps small outing essentials within reach. The backpack is made from Polycast material and comes in blue.

Practical tips

Before setting out, check that your pet can fit within the listed maximum dimensions and attach the interior tether to their collar when using the carrier. The pad is detachable and washable, which helps with routine cleanup after travel. When the backpack is not in use, fold it flat for compact storage in a closet or car trunk.
