VASAGLE LILEA LET223B01 Round Side Table with Fabric Basket, Ebony Black and Slate Grey

A side table can be mainly a surface for a lamp and a mug, or it can also help keep everyday bits off the floor. The VASAGLE LILEA LET223B01 combines a round particleboard top with a fabric basket underneath, giving it a dual role in a living room or beside a bed without taking up much floor space.

Its contemporary look pairs an ebony black top and frame with a slate grey, linen-texture basket. That makes it suited to modern or Nordic-inspired rooms, while the open basket gives stored items a different feel from the enclosed drawer space of a more traditional bedside table.

Tips for day-to-day use

The 45 x 50 cm footprint is intended for tighter spaces, so it can sit beside a sofa or bed where a larger table would be awkward. Use the top for items you want close to hand, such as a book or drink, and the basket for smaller belongings that might otherwise be left scattered nearby. The basket measures 39.6 x 18.2 cm and is made from double-layer, wrinkle-resistant polyester fabric with a linen-like texture.

The basket is open storage rather than a drawer: it keeps things together, but does not hide them behind a solid front. It makes sense if you want a compact surface plus a flexible place to store everyday items. You may want to skip it if your priority is enclosed storage or a substantially larger tabletop.

Why it’s worth it

Rather than choosing a plain occasional table and finding separate storage, this design combines both functions in one compact unit. Its U-shaped steel frame supports the one-piece particleboard top, and the listed maximum static load is 35 kg. The understated colour combination and round shape are also practical considerations for a room where you want a contemporary look without a bulky piece of furniture.

Assembly is described as straightforward, with labelled parts and illustrated instructions, and the product information says no complex tools are required. Buyer feedback also commonly praises the assembly instructions and appearance, some buyers mention its sturdiness and living-room size. These are reported impressions, rather than a substitute for checking whether the dimensions and open basket suit your room and storage needs.

Buying verdict

This is a sensible format to consider when the space beside a bed or sofa is limited and you would use both a tabletop and a fabric storage basket. Compared with a simpler table that offers only a surface, the basket adds a place for loose belongings, compared with furniture built around drawers, it keeps storage open and accessible. The 35 kg figure applies to the tabletop’s maximum static load, so it should not be read as a capacity rating for the basket. Choose it for compact, everyday storage and a coordinated black-and-grey finish, rather than for concealed storage or a broad surface.
