SmarTect screen protector for OnePlus Nord 5, 3-pack, 0.3 mm tempered glass
Product description
Some buyers want a thin layer of everyday scratch protection, while others prioritise flexible coverage for a curved display. This SmarTect tempered-glass pack is designed for the OnePlus Nord 5 and puts clarity and a firm glass surface first.
Would three protectors and a cleaning kit make fitting and future replacement more straightforward? The pack includes the basics for preparing the screen, applying the glass and keeping spares to hand.
It is worth weighing the fit note before choosing: on a curved smartphone, the protector covers only the horizontal surface. The product details do not confirm whether that limitation applies to the OnePlus Nord 5 specifically.
Practical tips
Clean the display thoroughly with the supplied wet wipe and use the anti-dust stickers before placing the glass. The pack also includes a microfibre cloth, so there are tools for removing marks and dust before installation. Careful preparation matters: dust trapped underneath can spoil the finish even when the protector itself is described as bubble-free.
After fitting, check that the edges sit as intended and that touch response is normal. The glass is described as having high touch sensitivity, and the manufacturer says screen protectors are compatible with face and fingerprint sensors, it also notes that a sensor may need recalibration or reconfiguration in some cases. If you use a case, the protector is cut to fit most cases without lifting or interference, though that is not a guarantee for every case design.
Why it’s worth it
The main appeal is the combination of a clear, glossy tempered-glass surface and three protectors in one pack. The listed glass thickness is 0.3 mm, with a 9H surface-hardness rating, an oleophobic coating to help resist fingerprints and grease, and stated resistance to scratches and impacts. These details make it a practical choice for keeping a phone screen covered during everyday handling, rather than opting for a flexible film intended for light protection on curved displays.
The clear finish is intended to preserve the display’s original appearance. SmarTect also describes the glass as shock-resistant, but a hardness rating is not a promise that a screen cannot crack after a drop. Worth considering if you want spare protectors available without buying a single replacement each time. It might not be a great match if you need coverage around the curved edges of a screen, the product information says curved-phone coverage is limited to the horizontal surface.
