soundcore C40i Open-Ear Clip-On Earbuds with 12 mm Drivers and Bluetooth 5.4

For a walk, workout or call on the go, the soundcore C40i clip-on earbuds offer an open-ear way to listen while keeping your ears unobstructed.

Their flexible joint and attachable ear grips help create a secure fit, while the lightweight clip-on design avoids an in-ear fit.

Prefer to keep your ears open rather than seal them with conventional earbuds? The C40i combines that listening style with button controls, Bluetooth 5.4 and a charging case.

Key points

The open-ear design rests around the ear instead of sitting inside the ear canal. That makes the C40i a practical choice for activities where you want to listen without an in-ear fit, including outdoor sports and workouts. A flexible joint made with memory titanium wire and soft TPU is designed to adapt to the ear, and the included medium and large ear grips offer another way to secure the fit.

For audio, the earbuds use 12 mm × 17 mm titanium-coated drivers. Physical button controls provide direct input while you’re moving, and two microphones with an AI-enhanced algorithm support clearer phone calls in noisy environments. Bluetooth 5.4 and multipoint connection make them suitable for compatible phones, tablets and computers. The IPX4 rating supports use during workouts where sweat or splashes may be a factor.

Tips for day-to-day use

Choose the ear grip size that feels secure, then position the clip comfortably around your ear before setting off. The open-ear format can suit a route where you want music or a call while remaining more aware of nearby activity than with earbuds that sit inside the ear. Use the physical buttons for playback and call control without relying on touch input.

For calls while commuting or between tasks, the microphones and AI-enhanced call processing are designed to help your voice come through in noisier surroundings. The open-ear design also offers a different fit approach from in-ear models: choose it for its clip-on placement, and choose a sealed in-ear style when blocking out ambient sound is the priority.

Getting the most from it

The C40i is built for active listening, from a gym session to a walk or a hands-free call during the day. Its flexible joint and attachable grips help keep the earbuds in place, while the open construction leaves the ear canal unobstructed. Button controls are useful when you want a deliberate press during movement.

A single charge provides up to 7 hours of playtime, with up to 21 hours using the case. The case supports wireless charging, and the earbuds also charge via the included USB-C cable. Multipoint connection is handy when switching between compatible devices, such as a phone and a laptop.

Practical questions

Are the C40i suitable for workouts? They are recommended for workouts and outdoor sports, with a clip-on fit, attachable ear grips and an IPX4 rating for sweat and splashes.

Can I connect them to more than one device? The C40i supports multipoint connection. Compatible Bluetooth devices include smartphones, laptops, desktops, tablets and smart speakers.

How long can I listen before recharging? The earbuds offer up to 7 hours of playtime on their own, or up to 21 hours with the charging case.

When it makes sense

Choose the soundcore C40i if you want clip-on, open-ear earbuds for workouts, outdoor listening and calls, rather than an in-ear seal. The flexible fit, physical buttons, multipoint connection and charging case make them well suited to a day that moves between exercise and compatible devices.
