Snowkids HDMI cable, 2 m

Technical details

Its stated support for 4K at 60 Hz makes this Snowkids HDMI cable a straightforward choice for connecting a compatible source to a 4K television or display. The 2 m length is useful when the devices sit close together, such as a console beside a TV or a streaming device near a screen. It also supports 3D, eARC and an Ethernet function, with a stated bandwidth of 18 Gbps.

The cable has a nylon-braided jacket, gold-plated connectors and reinforced strain-relief joints. Those details are intended to help with handling and reduce stress where the cable meets its connectors. There’s no need for driver installation, and the product description states backward compatibility with HDMI 1.4, 1.3 and 1.2.

• Length: 2 m
• Stated video support: up to 4K (3840 × 2160) at 60 Hz, plus 1440p and 1080p
• Other listed features: 3D, eARC and Ethernet function
• Cable construction: nylon braid with reinforced joints

What it works with

The listed uses include connecting HDMI-equipped TVs, monitors, projectors and displays to devices such as computers, Blu-ray players, DVD players and gaming consoles. Fire TV and PS3/PS4 are also named in the product information. For a 4K picture at 60 Hz, both the source and the display need to support that output, the cable alone cannot add a capability that either device lacks.

It may suit you if you need a short link between nearby equipment and want support for modern 4K video formats. If your setup is a console on a shelf below the television, the 2 m lead can keep the connection direct without leaving a long coil behind the cabinet. Compared with a basic cable chosen only for a nearby 1080p connection, the listed 4K, eARC and 3D support gives more room for compatible equipment and formats.

Usage tips

Measure the route between the HDMI ports before choosing this length, allowing enough slack for plugs and gentle bends. Keep the cable clear of places where a chair, cabinet door or moving console could tug on the connectors. The braided jacket is described as flexible and tangle-resistant, but it doesn’t make the lead immune to tight bends or repeated pulling.

For a no-picture or lower-resolution issue, check the output settings on the source and the input settings on the display first. This is a practical troubleshooting step, not a claim that the cable fixes device or settings problems. Without having tested it, the reinforced joints and braid are useful construction details, but the listing gives no independent durability results.

Before deciding

The main trade-off is reach: 2 m can work well for nearby devices, but it may not span a room or a distant wall-mounted display. The product information also doesn’t specify connector dimensions, so allow for the space around your device’s HDMI ports when planning a tight installation. The stated 18 Gbps and 4K at 60 Hz support are the relevant details if those are the formats your equipment uses.

Before you buy

Choose this cable when your HDMI devices are within a short distance and you want a braided lead with listed support for 4K at 60 Hz, eARC and 3D. It may not be the right fit if the route is longer than 2 m or your equipment needs a longer cable to reach comfortably. Snowkids also lists a lifetime warranty and customer support, those are useful after-purchase details, though they don’t change the cable’s length or the capabilities of connected devices.
