Logitech MX Keys Mini for Mac 920-012644 Compact Wireless Keyboard, Space Grey
Product description
Some desks need a full-size layout, others benefit from a keyboard that takes up less room. The Logitech MX Keys Mini for Mac pairs a compact, Mac-specific layout with wireless Bluetooth Low Energy. Need to work across more than one Apple device? Pair up to three and switch between them from the keyboard.
How to use it
Connect the keyboard to a compatible Mac, iPad or iPhone over Bluetooth Low Energy, then pair additional Apple devices when you want to move between them. The device-switching feature makes it practical to keep a Mac and iPad in the same workspace, or to alternate between devices as your tasks change. Its compact form is also easy to bring along when you work in different spaces.
The low-profile keys are shaped to fit your fingertips, with a Mac layout that keeps familiar Apple key functions close at hand. Smart keys add quick access to Dictation, emoji and microphone mute or unmute. The Dictation feature is provided by macOS and is available only in select languages and regions. Smart backlighting turns on as your hands approach and adjusts to the lighting around you, helping the keys stay visible as your workspace changes.

Pros
A compact layout can free up desk space while still providing dedicated Mac-oriented keys and smart shortcuts. The fingertip-shaped keys are designed for precise typing, and their increased stability helps reduce typing noise. For a desk shared by a Mac and iPad, switching between paired devices keeps the workflow in one place instead of requiring a separate keyboard for each.
Lighting responds to your hands and surroundings rather than staying at one fixed level, while USB-C recharging supports regular use between charges. The listed battery life is up to 10 days with a full charge, extending to up to 5 months when the backlighting is off. For additional task automation, customizable Smart Actions are available through the Logi Options+ app, some software features require that app.
Questions before you buy
Which Apple devices can it connect to? It is optimized for macOS, iPadOS and iOS, and can pair with up to three Apple devices for switching between them. Basic keyboard functions are supported on iOS and iPadOS without software.
How does the backlighting work? The keys light when your hands approach, then automatically adjust to changing lighting conditions. You can also extend battery life by turning the backlighting off.
What can the Smart Keys do? They provide shortcuts for Dictation, opening the emoji window and muting or unmuting a microphone. Dictation availability depends on macOS language and region support.
When it makes sense
Choose the MX Keys Mini for Mac when a smaller footprint, Mac-specific key layout and convenient switching between Apple devices matter more than having a full-size keyboard. Its smart illumination, USB-C recharging and built-in shortcuts suit a compact home-office setup, a shared Mac-and-iPad desk or a work routine that moves between spaces.
